To Jump or Not?

Well I'm thinking about poker vs work a lot.  For the last month 
poker has been crap.. but I'm not convinced I can't make a go of it.
Furthermore the idea of work REALLY sux.

So I'm going to start applying for jobs and see what pops up.
If I do work I'll do 3 years and save as much as I can.
Then I'll come back to Bali and buy a house and return to
poker.

I guess I'm leaning towards work.. if I can find a really
high paying job. I'd love to put away 1.5k a month...

I'll see what comes up I guess.

Sad

Well I've earned bugger all this month and
 honestly it looks like a return to the working world
is "on the cards". I haven't played terribly, but I also
haven't played great. Needless to say I haven't had
much luck, but really it's more poor play than anything.
I'll start sending out the CV after Xmas. If I do work
I plan on doing 2-3 years and then buying a house in
Bali and having another crack at poker....
I feel sad about it, but also a little excited about the
possible change.

Horrible Horible Horible Luck

Decimated my roll of $240 with the most awful awful luck.  
QQ destroyed by Kx twice... High blinds card dead. Just unreal.
I honestly didnt play badly.. just couldnt hit a flop hand after
hand after hand. So demoralizing.  TT all in destroyed by AT.
Horrible cards for hours and the only good cards completely 
destroyed. Enough to make me cry.

How Much is Enough?

Well I had a bad day yesterday where I was down $90 
and had fought so hard in 2 finals with no luck. I took a break 
and managed to  get back to even. Today I played twice and
won twice to make $78. I also cashed out $500, leaving my
roll on $238.

Next year I'm probably going to put Slam in Gandhi International
School. It costs a fortune and I'm not sure I can afford it, but it
is an excellent school.

I'm not really sure I can sustain a decent lifestyle on current earnings
but I guess I'll keep plugging away. If I had a house then I'd be
set, so as long as I don't waste any money I should be ok...
Buy a cheap house and then live a quiet life, with the main expense
the boys' school. It'll be a fraction easier when I've finished paying
for the car..

Rocking Along

Well had a good day. Made $76 without too much hassle. Didn't play 
much as I'm not motivated to play when I'm winning, I guess
I've been ahead and then ended up playing too much and booking
a loss or much smaller win, so now when I get up more than $60 I 
stop. It suits me. 

Current roll is $661 When I get to $750 I'll cashout $500.
$250 is a big enough roll at these limits. I have $600 in Neteller but
I want to keep that for depositing into Stars when they have a reload bonus
so really I have no money until I cashout the $500.

Saw a beautiful sunset at the beach and ordered a flash card for the
Nintendo DS I intend to buy in Singapore.

Rolling Along

Well I'm not playing much poker,  just not in the mood, but I'm rolling along
doing the minimum to make money. Thank Kristus my Bugsys cashout arrived
I was going spare, not to mention broke. I have about 3 spare cents this month
and haven't organized my Neteller cashout, but I'm doing my best to get it
done...

Went bodysurfing on a rare shorebreak with the boys yesterday. Had a hoot!  

Sucks

Twice I get people all in on top pair vs middle pair
 and twice they catch to wipe me out.  I was patient, wating for
them to make the mistakle, then they make it and get saved..
so frustrating, not to mention the lost money.

Bugging me

Well I recovered some from my tilitfest where I lost nearly $200 in a session. 
Now I'm winning a little every day and not playing too much.
My Bugsys cashout has STILL NOT ARRIVED. I mean FUCK
FUCK SHIT I've waited nearly 2 weeks. Every day I check my acount, but NADA.
Anyway I emailed support and hopefully soon I'll be ok. I'm also trying to
get a neteller card so I can get my money out of Pokerstars... drip drip drip
progress is so painfully slow.
Current roll $394.. still down $50 after tilt day but things could be worse.

Heady Days

Well the new attitude has lead to an increase in results. Last 4 days have been 
$140, $97, $36, $97. I think as long as I keep it together I'm going to make enough
cash at Stars to start saving some cash. It's been a stressful time, but 
hopefully I'll get some nice runs on the board from here on out.

I thought I'd write it down, I actually had some luck. Amazing. 
All in A9 vs Aq and I hit a straight . Then later in the same game all in
QQ vs AA and I rivered a Q.. who says I never get lucky..

Sorted

Well I've got it together at last. After a few days of losing money I finally analysed 
what was going wrong. I'd lose a match through bad beats or a poor play, start steaming, 
start the next match immediatelyand lose that. Then of course I was even more pissed 
and tilty and surprise surprise I was losing money.

Also when I woke up , I invariably won my first match. Hence the problem wasn't my unending run of bad luck (it had been bad) but my mental state.

After reflecion I decided on a madatory timeout of at least 30 mins after losing a game. Today 2nd game I get all in with QQ vs A8 and lose. I'm absolutely steaming but I take the 30 mins out, calm myself down, come back and win the next game, something that wouldnt have happened if I'd played straight away. It's difficult to do, but the results prove it's the right move.

Crappy Day

Lost money, was a very frustrating day. My head wan't quite right plus I had bad luck.
 Lost with QQ vs AK all in pre flop and KJ all in pre flop. Lost with QQ vs Jx when 
he flopped trips and i was too stupid to fold... basically lost lost lost.
Had crappy net and then virus software fucking up the comp.. was frustrating.

Casino Royale

I went and saw Casino Royale with Iin and Slam. It wasn't terrible. Won two and lost two 4 man tourneys today, so a profit of about $76. Yesterday just played and won 1 as I was tired.

Bye Bye Bugs

Well I've left Bugsys. Ordered my cashout and cleaned out my account. Basically the site was dying. There were precious few hu fish around. The choice was play the sharks, don't play, or move on. So I've gone to the dark side.. Poker Stars. So far I'm doing ok there. Roll is up from $250 to $800 in a week, but what scares me is that I can win or lose so much in a day. Today I went from $800 to $950 to $450 then back to $800.. that is scary. I'll have to put money in mum's neteller account and keep it safe.

Awful Month

Well I've had a truly awful month. I guess really the strategy of concentrating on hu matches has backfired and I need to get back to the formula thats works.. playing tourneys with hu to pay for the entry and hopefully make a small profit on the side.
Geoff has also done poorly.. he's down $400. I've had a run of awful awful luck, but play has been only ok..

Haven't been in the mood to play lately. My play has been slipping but I've had some good luck to make up for it. Current roll is $3920... Would be more if Geoff slowed down. he's playing terribly...

Well I've been plugging away at Bugsys doing the same old same old. Sent Geoff another $100, meaning he's in the hole for $300. I've been earning steadily this month, on a $60 average or so. Current roll is $3882. Last month I earned $2100 which isn't including my league bonus. A great month for me considering I had a week flying in Sumatra, but of course that result is boosted by my Bugsys 10k shootout score of $600.

I'm thinking about moving to Poker Stars. They have hu games 24/7. The starting chips are low so I'll need a slight adjustment of my strategy, but I'm sure I'll be a winning player. Also they have 4 man hu tourneys which look super cool. I can't wait to play them. They also have a $200 entry 1 million guaranteed tourney. I think I'll be signing up for sats to play that. Just waiting for mum to organize neteller, then the poker world is my oyster!!

4 AM.. Tired But Happy

Entered a rebuy sat two days ago for the 10k shootout. Ended up rebuying so much I spent $56 for a $55 event, but I qualified. Woke up at 4am the next day figuring I'd had enough of tourneys. Had 2 bad beats, AA vs JJ all in he flopped a jack, and flopped flush vs trips all in he filled on the river. Despite that I had plenty of chips and managed 5th (after sucking out KK vs AA) for $600. The next event I finished 7th in the $33 for $100 (after getting in for $12 in a sat). So two great finishes in 2 events. :-)

The next day I played 2 $30 hu against tough opps... got down low in both of them but hung tough to win. Also played the $2 rebuy and came 5th for $40. So three cashes in a row. It never rains, it pours... go figure.

Current roll is $3584. Geoff took his last $100.. blew that in ring games and then borrowed another $100. So he's gone from +$150 to -$100 in the space of a week.

2 Bubbles 1 cash

Bubbled in a sat for the $33 tourney :-(( Also bubbled in the $15, 21 players. I never had any cards the whole game. Finally doubled up on KQ when blinds were high. Put my stack in with AK vs Q8 and another unkown hand. IGHN on the river after flopping a K. That pissed me off I can tell you.

Won 3 hu matches. Ronaman donated $50. Think he's a little pissed at me after I beat him 12 times in a row.

Current roll on $3035 up $165, so a good day I guess.

Even

Lost all my tourneys. Didn't play badly, but card dead and KK thrashed by A8.. I go home now. Roll is about the same as yesterday.

Bubble Trouble

Bubbled in the $15 Came 13th in the $30 which is practically a bubble. Close but couldnt cash. :-( The killer hand was when I held 99 vs a maniac in the sb. I put him in vs his JJ. I hit trips but he caught a straight. Against anyone else I might have dropped the hand, but he was constantly raising. A frustrating day, but I know I played well. Won two HU and a big stack sat to come out even for the day more or less. Current roll $2841 so up $16. Maybe I'll catch ronman later for a donation.

$30 7th

Came 7th in the $30 3k guaranteed for $150. No complaints. One bad beat but was lucky to get to 7th as I hit the final table last with almost no chips and got to watch 3 people die in front of me.

Played in 2 sats for the big stack bounty. 5k guaranteed and a starting stack of 25k. Qualified both times. Spending about $25 but getting a $33 entry and $33 in cash. Was lucky to qualify in the second when i had almost no chips and somone committed suicide.

Lost a HU to absonite after he rivered me AJ vs A8 with AATx on the board. But won the next one to come back strong.

Sent Geoff $50. Current roll is $2825 so up $124 for the day.

Impatient

Played like an imatient fool in the $30 and $5 tourneys. both tourneys I doubled up early and both times I stupidly bluffed my chips off just after the break. Simlpy no patience. Days when my head isn't in the game I need to recall what real work was like. Then perhaps I wont act like such a fucking TOOL.

Won 2 hu to cover my losses, but really nothing excuses my idiocy.

The net dies with 5 left in the $15 $300 guaranteed. I have 6k left with 1.8k blinds. It comes back 15 mins later and I'm still in it!! I have 900 left. I'm blinded in with 7h8h.. river a flush. Yeehah. From there i go on to split 1st with freekystyley. A nice cash of $120 (after the split) from out of NOWHERE. I mean I was so dead.

Boilerup the retarded fuck calls my AQ all in with K7. The guy is a COMPLETE calling station. I had a decent stack 17k with 2k blinds, then he givesme shit about trying to steal his blinds. Sigh. I was doing fine up until that beat.

Earned $80 yesterday, my first day back from Sumatra. Up a little today, but going out like that in the $30 sucks.

I hate being nubble boy. Bubbled in the $15 tourney. Was chip leader, but with high blinds and guys going in every hand I just watched my stack dwindle. Best cards I got were AJ. All in vs AK. Hit a J on the flop.. but TQ gave him the nuts. Cashed in the $25, but I'm still pissed over my bubble. Oh well. Current roll is $2526 after I won an extra $50 hu last night.

Came 8th in the $30. It's a good event as it has normally 50-60 people, meaning it pays 10 places. I went out with AQ vs JJ... I try to avoid these situations but blinds were high. If I win that coin toss I'm going DEEP. Won a $20 and $30 hu and lost a $10 tourney. Didn't make any obvious mistakes.

Current stack $2425 so up $83. Possibly including a $10 deposit bonus clearing.

I finally won a tourney. Picked up $262 for winning the $25 10k Skill event. Only 21 entries. Also picked up some skill points so hopefully I'll cash in that. I've been playing mostly hu. Only averaging $40 per day. Had some crappy, unlucky losses, but nothing worse than usual.

Current roll is $2342. But that's with $150 credit from Geoff.

End Of The Month

My tourney cash rate has plummeted and I've dropped down the $10K Skill League. I seem to be going out at pretty much the same time in every tourney, adn not due to bad luck, but perhaps imapatience... I'll have to think about it.

I need to play more HU games. I've only made about 1k this month. The net has been crap, but really the problem is I havent won any of the 19 tourneys I cashed in and I haven't played well enough HU matches, or enough HU matches.

I also do badly when I play too many tables. The most successful formula is 1 HU match and one tourney. So I'll try and stick to this and increase my winnings. The temptation is to play more tourneys as then I can get more league points. But I have to accept that this is counter productive.

Beginner

Some days I play poker like a beginner. Lost 3 tourneys and a hu so I went flying. Down $70 and a heap of points in the 10K skill league. Too much sleep and I play badly.

Net Loss

Another day of awful awful net. Lost $15 in a tourney entry as I wasn't able to play the event. Later in the day after the net had returned (it was out for hours) I played the $3 and cashed (4th out of 30). Obviously I only played for the points and hopefully they'll boost me a little. If I had good net I honestly think I could have a serious shot at the top 3 in the 10k skill league. I'll see how it goes.

Went flying. Had 2 very nice flights. Wind was crossed so approached the top landing from the other side of the landing zone.

Return of The Empire

Well my hu is going crap so I've layed off them and are playing just tourneys. I've done ok, cashing 4 times in the last 2 days. No wins which is a concern, but I guess I play to cash, not win. I'm sitting 9th on the 10k skill league and hopeful I can keep climbing. Current roll $766 which is really $816 as Geoff borrowed $50 so I'm back to even after the damage from the last 2 days.

The Pain

Lost about a million hu games and 3000 tourneys. Oh the pain!
Actually cashed in the $2 rebuy and came second in the $15 for 90. That still left me down a fortune. As usual lost my internet connection to gift some arsehole $30. The pain, oh the pain. Current roll $652.. down $85.

Such a crap internet conn today. Lost a heads up due to it and couldnt play my tourney. Got back in for the 5th time I had 4k.. After a suckout I managed a miracle 2nd. So instead of losing $55 I actually made about $60 for the day. Was super stoked to cash there.

Didn't cash in the $2 rebuy or $15. Should have cashed in the rebuy but really got impatient when I heard the wind was good and probably threw my chips away when I shouldn't have. Up about $60 after HU. Geoff won the $2 rebuy and picked up $200.. handy.

Saw a guy have an accident at Timbis today. He was inexperienced and stallled his glider from more than 10 meters up. He dropped like a rock and hurt his back pretty badly. They had to get the ambulance for him.

Late Night Poker

Won two $30 hu games early in the morning, then won the $10 tourney (only 10 people so payout $50). Despite that ended up only even for the day after losing a heap of hu games. I wasn't playing great and was super unlucky. Ended up even for the day on $506 (cashed 5k). A travesty considering how much I won.

The next day I played all the tourneys I could. Came 8th in the $2 rebuy. Didn't win much cash but won some useful 10k skill league points. Went out 5th in the $15 after thinking I had 2 pair when I only had 1. Guy chased me all the way and hit an overcard on the river. GRR Roll is $513, up $7 for the day but I played a lot of tourneys in which I almost cashed.

Surabaya

Off to Surabaya in a few hours. Looking forward to seeing Geoff and Stewart and upgrading the computer. Apart from that it'll be a shit trip no doubt.

I'm close to a cashout. A day or two at most. It'll be good to get some money into the bank accounts and get a deposito going. That'll safeguard the money so it can't be touched. Also good to get my free $150 of course.

Current roll is $5160. Up $30 on yesterday. I crashed out of the $2 rebuy 23rd after being chipleader after the break. Didn't do much wrong.. just no cards and couldnt buy any boards.

Won 3 hu in a row. Played well. Came second in the $2 rebuy or about $120. I'd forgotten what it's like to cash in a tourney, but with such large fields (70-80+) thats not sutrprising.

Went flying today. It was gusty and everyone had left except for Selio (a very nice Brazillian guy who works in Japan). Wed just gone for a walk down the cliff to see the guys fishing at low tide in the gulch. Everyone was gone, the wind was gusty, but we decided fuck it and flew for about 15 mins. Neither of us enjoyed it much, but we were stoked after bottom landing that we actually flew.

Frustrating Day

Internet died twice plus I had a pwer failure. Went ahead early about $45 and then ended up even. My fav hand AA vs qj. Flop Jxx.. all th emoney in... turn Q. Just couldnt do much right, it sucked. No paragliding as wind too strong. Couldnt find two cards to rub together as opp after opp came back against me. Tmw should be better.
Geoff borrowed $100 and blew it in ring games. Then wanted another $50. I told him to wait a while.

Reversal

Yesterday I couldn't win a hu to save my life, today I won 4 in a row. Threw away the $2 rebuy with a stupid bluff followed by an all in on AK.. dumb. Had a very playable stack and just needed to show some patience. Lent $25 to Lukeforpres9.. that had better come back, and sent Geoff $50.. he lost a few in a row.

No luck

Lost a hu when I had tashaun22 down to 1k.. Just couldnt catch a card above a 4 while he was pushing in a lot. Lost another when the fucking net died.

Went out almost last in the $15. I have DA D6. Flop QD 7D 9D. All the money goes in. River pairs and I'm out vs QQ. A tough beat.

Made two dumb errors today.

1. I trapped a guy against a cliff when I should have flew left. He was on his second flight and I felt like a dumbarse after. I certainly wont ever make that error again.

2. I pushed all in against 1 limper with JJ. Had a decent stack and he was chipleader. Should have raised 1/4 of my stack and then pushed in on the low flop. He had AQ and hit on the turn.

Finally got my groundhandling under control. Thank goodness I can go to the ridge and not feel like a complete tool at takeoff time.

Up $60 today. Won a lot of HU, but lost all my tourneys. Roll $4900. Will be cashing out within the week I hope. As soon as I clear my bonus.

Cool

Won 3 hu in a row so up $57.. then lost a couple of tourneys. Ended up $40, but I spent most of the day flying so it was ok.

My groundhandling was awful, so after my first flight I headed to the training hill and learned how to do the A and D riser method. That seemed to sort out my problems and I had a successful launch after that. I think I've got it sussed now.

Went out to dinner with Iin and the boys. Had a lukewarm steak, but Iin liked her steak and the boys enjoyed pizza. Looks like we'll go back to La Porchetta again. Prices were very reasonable for Bali.

I'm starting to get keen on the soft play centre again. I guess I have to get a house first though..

Frank

Finally had a little luck in a tourney and won the $2 rebuy for $130. Also came fifth in the $5 tourney for $25. Those were pretty much the last two tourneys of the month for the 10K skill league and the results moved me from 23rd to 10th. SO I went from being lucky to make $50, to cashing $200.

Went and bought a little puppy for the boys. A little mangy Bali dog. The boys are thrilled. Iin is seriously pissed. Hopefully she'll calm down over time.

MTF8 Part 2

Had a crap day where I busted out of 3 tourneys because the power died. Then when it came back on I entered a $20 hu. Half way through... dies again. Joy. The upside was that later that day I lost to Mtf8 in a $20. Then played him for A $100 and kicke his arse. Was on a total high for hours after that.

Tried to go paragliding but win was too strong. At the moment I'm looking to buy a dog for the boys. I'd like a golden retriever... but worried that the coat would be too hot and the dog too big. I guess I'll wait till I find out how much the owner wants.

Now it's cuddle time with the boys, before they go to sleep.

Lost about $600 playing limit. I just have to accept I can't play limit and I NEVER will be able to play limit. On my best day I SUCK at limit. I don't know why I can't play it.. I just can't. Turn Left At The Fork In The Road

Well I've done a lot of thinking. At the moment I can survive on what I'm earning at the tables. I can scrape out a living, but there's probably not much upside. Furthermore I'm vulnerable. If Bugsys shuts down or I got banned or whatever, I have no way to make money. With that in mind I'm going to move into limit.

Limit is played in 1000's of sites all over the net. If I master limit it gives me the following. 1. felxibilty. I can play anywhere. 2. a chance to climb the limit ladder and make some decent cash. 3. A chance to multi table, something which isn't as easy playing hu. 4. Bugsys has a nice limit league which pays well if you play a LOT.

So I'm approaching it three ways.

1. Read. I'll read and reread and study "Winning Low Limit Holdem" by Lee Jones. That's my new bible. Then I'll move on to "Holdem For Advanced Players", THE classic text for higher limits.

2. I'll try and get hold of Turbo Holdem Poker. That sim should be useful.

3. Most important is turning myself into a winner via my thought processes. Every night my new mantra is. "I will improve my play and get rich playing poker." No doubt I need to refine that, but in time.

So there it is.. moving into limit, something I thought I'd never do due to it's frustrations and variance.

Went surfing. Was very cool.

Played an incredible hu game vs KrookedKreek. The guy sucked out on me 5 times (yes 5) before I sucked out on him twice and won it. Blinds were 400-800 by the time I got him. A very tough game, I was happy to win it.

Looks like I'm stuck with Star Bali crapnet.. oh well.

My ISP is so shit it's driving me insane. Tmw I'm going to try and set up a new provider "Channel 11". I hope it's good or I'll be pissed.

Lost $50 at poker. $10 hu, $10 tourneys and $30 at limit. Not a big deal, what really pisses me is this damn net.

Luck Where Are You???

I know it's a poor excuse but lately my luck in tourneys hasn't been great. For example a raise to steal the blinds by rho. I have Td9d. He has 88. Flop Q9x. he bets 3k (about half the pot). I feel he's missed the flop or might potentially lay down TT JJ if I play this right. Turn is a blank. I fire all in. He calls. River.. a 2 outer 8.. IGHN. Honestly I haven't been unlucky in tourneys, but that was certailny indicitave of the luck I've had on crucial hands.

I'm continuing to make a profit in $2-$4 limit with max 6 players. I prefer two or three opps. Made $79 there, plus $19 from a hu. Lost a $2 tourney (above) so a total profit of $96 (minus 6 more I'll no doubt lose in the $2 rebuy). So a profit of $93.

My terrible tourney run continues. Not bad luck, perhaps just bad play. I called a smallish stack on AK suited. lost a race. That pretty much crippled me. I've dropped way down the 10k skill rankings, which sucks.

HU I won 3 and lost 1. Really stupid stupid loss... called a maniac when he had to go soon and I could have waited him out. What a TOOL I was. I was SERIOUSLY pissed about that.

Another bad beat.. last night the comp died when I was signed up in a $20.. Lost that money :-(

Been playing $2-$4 limit. Have made a little money at that which is nice. The best bit is I go to play against MTF8 my old hu enemy, and take $33 off him. A very sweet $33 indeed!!!!

Current roll $4921 (sent $50 to Geoff who was felted). So up $80, considering I lost $20 extra plus a couple of $2 rebuys yesterday.

Gunung Payung

At last I was allowed to go Paragliding. Bima had never seen me fly before and was protecting me from the "strong winds". Now I've proven myself competent I should get a LOT more flying action. Today if the winds are ok then I 'll get to fly my new Zulu glider. I can't wait.

Went out to a shocking beat in the $15. I steal on K8. Flop comesdown Kxx. I bet 1/3 of pot. An all in bluif by Russianiceman (fucker) on AJ. I call instantly and instead of me havinga very nice stack he hits a 3 outer Ace on the river. The luckbox. I then tilted my remaing chips off all in on A8. 8k with 2k blinds it was't a terrible play, but that was that.

Played $2-$4 shorthanded. Hit some nice hands and made a profit.

Why Bother

Lost all my tourneys and 3 hu matches in a row. @ of them tough, one of them I made an error which was understandable, but stupid.

My mind is swimming with fatigue. I'll stop playing for the day. It's amazing how I seem to play poorly when I get too much sleep. Last night I slept about 9 hours. Then proceeded to play shit poker.

Current roll $4717 ($4767 with the $50 I sent Geoff). Down $62.

Later that day.. played limit $2-$4 and won $16 plus played a hu.. so recovered to be only down $25 roll now $4854 (Geoff sent me $100)

Belligerent

Played well in all tourneys today. Very few errors. I'm happy with my game. Didn't make much cash, but it feels great to play well. Cashed in one tourney and came close in the others. Up to 11th in the 10k league.. HU I won quite a bit, about $100 I think, which makes it a pleasing day.

I did however pick a fight with a moron who called my raise (AQ) on Q2 and doubled me up when the board came QT8Q.. moron. I guess I should say nothing, but what a tool.

Current roll $4783.. I sent $50 to Geoff, so that should really be $4833 which would be up $100 on yesterday.

Fishooks

Played all day. Played very well with the exception of overplaying JJ. (some moron with a large stack put me in with AQ.. IGHN) Hence I've decided to take the Allen Cunningham approach and avoid confrontations with mediocre hands unless I've got AA KK or maybe AK (as so many people will push with AQ AJ AT).

JJ did me again in the $15 tourney. I bubbled instead of a certain cash. Blinds were high relative to stack size when the shortstack went in with 55 vs my JJ. She hit, I missed and never managed to recover.

But the bottom line is avoid coinflips unless a huge stack or no choice. I played with a lot of patience and very well, just one small error.

Stack was about $4730.. down roughly $30, but that didn't worry me as I played quite well.

Sacred Monkey Forrest

Went to the sacred monkey forrest. Glad I missed the secular monkey forrest.. wouldnt want to see that.

Kids enjoyed it. Slam was scared of the monkeys. Drive wasnt too bad. Saw some large koi which were oool. A LOT of tourists there.

The Phantom Guruh

Thought I was going paragliding and rushed up to Timbis. Guruh, who had sms'd me, was nowhere to be seen.

I tried ground handling. I figured it wasn't blowing too hard. WRONG!! First attempt left my wing in a tree. No damage thank goodness (except to the tree, which is missing a few limbs). Second attempt I was lifted off the ground and flung about 9 feet. I tried one more time, got dumped hard when I wasn;t even intending to leave the ground and slunk away like an embarrassed fool, much to the amusement of the guys who rescued me from the tree and then watched my antics.

The other weird thing is that due to the public holiday I've been getting super fast net.. 65kbs.. WOW. I guess it'll end tmw, but I enjoyed it while I could.

Came 3rd in the $2 rebuy, field of 36, paying 5. Went out on TT vs AJ :-(

I take two bad beats then tilt my chips away AGAIN!!!!. The very hand after I tilt my chips down to 400 I get AA. I mean fuck me am I STUPID???

QQ vs T7. I make a huge raise preflop. Moron calls on T7 suited. catches 2 of his suit.. pushes in and doubles up.

So now I'm on tilt..

I catch TT.. board is 984. multiple callers. I bet pot. 1 caller. turn is 4. He pushes in. I KNOW I MUST FOLD!!. But call due to ubertilt.. IGHN and KICK MYSELF!!!

TILT

I've discovered that I tilt even when I think I don't. After I take a horrible beat (this time it was trapping an aggressive shortstack. I limped on KK, he pushed in on A5. I call and he doubles up when an ace hits. Before that it was a low board against a raiser. I push in on my pocket pair after reading weakness and he calls and catches a K on the river.. he had AK). I then make an awful decision (normally calling when I am clearly beat).

Basically the bad beat puts me on tilt even though I dont feel angry. I then make a stupid play. Emotionally I feel fine, but my judgement has been affected by the beat.

I guess I have to be EXTRA careful not to tilt after a bad beat. I'll see if I can master this hole in my game.

Woke Up at 3 am

Had to decide whether to go to sleep in the arvo or work. I chose to work and surprisingly didnt play too well. I managed to be patient right up to the crucial moment, where after 3 hours of hard work I'd then make a monumental error. I bubbled once, second bubbled once and came 3rd out of 33 when I had a real shot at first. The hand that did me in

Played like a tool tossing away my stack in the $2 rebuy.. but made up for it by winning the $10 tourney. Played well and with patience! Even though my comp froze after the antivirus fired up.. That was HU and I lost half my stack :-( Then had to suffer runner runner A6 vs 45 all in. Flop Aq6 turn 7 river 3... But came back to win it :-)

Current stack $4657. So up about $320 on yesterdays disaster day.

A bonus is that I've moved up the ranks in the Bugsys 10K skill league. If I play well I should cash for some decent money ($100 or so).

They just keep coming. I cashed twice today but should have had SO much more. The hand the took me out 5th (paying 5). 3 players limp. Blinds are high. Flop JJ9. I have KJ. Bet pot by moron to my left (KK). I reraise. Calls. All in on the turn. He 4 flushes me. If that holds up I'm looking good for $200 instead of $40 and a lock for $60. The beats can be sick sometimes.. so sick. I feel crap about it. At least I played well today.

Current roll $4545. Up $210 on yesteray plus I have a big stack in the $2 rebuy. With some luck I might cash 3/3 for the day. That would give me a shot at the 10k league.

Weird Dream

It's not often I remember my dreams, but last night I slept about 10 hours and had a VERY vivid dream. I dreamed I was in a small house in front of a large mountain. The snow on the mountain came roaring towards the house in an avalanche, but this wasn't at all threatening, just interseting. After a few waves of snow the weather changed to a large myst. This myst was the voice of god. If the myst cleared in response to my question then the answer was yes, and if it stayed then the answer was no. Very weird. After the dream finished I had a very strong message. God is real... Love is the answer.. Very weird. Luckily I've come to my senses and remain an avowed atheist.. but it was a very disturbing dream due to it's vividness.. Guess I better lay off the cheesebread...

CRAP DAY

Lost about $150 hu and in tourneys. Played like a tool. Sleep patterns are the problem perhaps. Just not thinking great as far poker is converned. The smart thing would be to stop playing and go work on my groundhandling (paragliding).

I have to get it together if I'm going to make a living at this.
