Started the day with 3 straight wins. Played patiently against two tough opps and got a lucky suckout in one game aipf with 66 vs TT. He only had 400 at the time.

Electricity was out all day!

It finally came on just as I came home from taking the family to dinner. I then broke the rules to play 18 games straight. Naturally I was unlucky or I wouldn't have done that.

Lost a heap of hands like AK AQ AJ AIPF vs pairs and JT etc... must have gone 0-5 in flips. I can't whine as that's variance rebounding back to say hello. :)

Ended up making $102 :((

I guess it's a worry to play that much, that's exactly the sort of behaviour that lead to me having losing days. I'll keep it under control!

Ended up $123. Didn't play great and wasn't overly lucky..tonight I'll get enough sleep and play like a patient champ tomorrow, as opposed to today, which was more like partial chimp.

Learning

I've learned a few things over the last few months:

1) The more players, the more morons. FTP has a heap of players while UB has a few. Hence there is much better value to be had at FTP. To the extent that the FTP $50 games are MUCH softer than the UB $30's. Goodbye UB.

2) Short sessions. This makes SUCH a huge difference that it can mean the difference between making money and losing money. You simply have to work short, short, short sessions.

3) Happy hour attracts the fish. More players=more fish=yum yum.

4) I really can make a nice income at the $50 level, I mean a really nice income.

5) The longer FTP structure means less variability, but of course also longer games.

Made $137 in my first session. Am planning on working again after I pick up the boys. This could be a $200++ day!!

Had AA cracked. Also lost my net connection. FUCK lost a game thx to that!!

Managed to get AIPF QQ vs KK :((

Ended up winning 2 games in the second session. +$227 all up :)

Sleep!!

Decided to have a crack at the $100 games and then blew that idea out of the water by getting about 5 hours sleep.

Managed to make $175, played against a VERY aggressive fucker, who beat me in a couple, but I won the war.

Today is Slam's birthday. All he got was a lousy toy snake and some WII games, but he is as happy as ever. What a lovely kid he is. A mystery how I managed that 6 sigma-luckbox-suckout. Two great kids and not having to work is really as good as it gets.

Madness

Had a tool call all in with a nearly full stack on 3-4 os. Luckily my mighty AK stood up. Whew.

Ended session 1 with $90 after losing one match and winning 3.

All Good

Went to Centro and the kids played in the soft play center for about 90 mins. They had a great time and we'll definitely have to take them back next weekend!

I played an aggressive bluffer who beat me twice in a row, but I came back to get him and win 4 straight. The funny thing was he was still convinced I was shit, after I whipped him 4 times!! Ended up +$175.. which is awesome. I think between 3.5 and 4k is possible at the $50 level. There are so many shite players there and the structure is so good.

Hopefully the move to $100 goes as well. I'll be thinking about that when I have consolidated and have a few rupiah in the bank!!

AK

Every time I get AIPF with AK or AQ  vs a worse ace they hit. This time AK vs A9 :((

Luckily I ended up winning the game anyway, as I had twice his stack at that stage.

Won 3 straight today to end up +$142 :))

Also went to watch the finals of the Asian Beach Games wrestling. Took Ziggy along. It was cool, but I only got to see 2 matches.

Tool

Played like a tool in my second game on FTP. Pushed with TT vs AQ against a hyper aggro opponent. Won that flip. Later in the game I pushed with 77 against AK. Luckily I won the flip but really I should have seen the flop, which was low and then pushed. I got away with it, but it was a poor play!!

Up $95 so far and will play later.

Played one more at midnight.. a wee bit silly.. and won it!! Made $140 all up. :)

Big Pairs

Couldn't win with QQ vs KJ or fold it after KK was on the board. Also lost AIPF with AA vs 44 after he flopped a 4. :(

Just not running good today. AK suited vs K8 suited. Flop K42 against a VERY aggro player. All in.. he turns the flush :((

Lost $41 on UB :(( Basically one game down + rake. Won 3 on FTP.  So up $137 there.

I Hate the TV

Spent most of the day dragging around increasingly whiny kids as we shopped for house stuff. Bought a nice Sharp 32 inch TV, which looks HUGE compared to the old computer monitor I had been using. Also bought a computer table and a bookshelf. Tomorrow we get 2 large wardrobes to store our clothes and stuff. Should make the house look a little tidier!!

Came back late and tired, so played two games on FTP. Beat the same guy twice for +$95. He was a pretty ordinary player and shouldn't have been at the $50 level. FTP has so many people playing there must be 1000's of fish at the $50 and higher levels.

All Good

Won $82 on UB and won my match on FTP. That leaves me with $472.. plus rakeback which means I'm basically +$250 so far on FTP. I've been playing there since the 10th.. so That's $250 in 11 days, which makes my estimate of $750 a month from their look fairly accurate. 

The important thing is to cash out $250.. so my initial deposit has been recovered, then build the stack up to 2k so I can start playinf the $100's. With SO MANY games going there must be plenty of donks at the $100 and $200 levels. I really think that FTP is my only realistic shot of making serious money. So I'll keep pursuing it.

Damm Runner Runner

Wasn't playing great in the morning. Was $19 up. Went to Bali Deli with the kids and dropped off my fkashdisk to Niko could watch UFC 89. Then when I got back I won 3 straight to end up $110.

Same old

Won $83 on UB and then $50 on FTP. 

Took the boys to the beach and they had a great time. Spent about 2 hours collecting crabs and so on. 

All in all a nice day.

New Style

Tried changing to the mini raise style. One thing I noticed is that all the games I've played have finished faster and I'm enjoying that. The games going to 150-200 all the time blinds can be a real drag!!

Not even 11:am and I'm up $111.. I could keep playing.. who knows!

Ended up $51 on UB which is a but shit, but made up for it by winning my game on FTP. This raises an interesting point. When I play single games there I seem to do great.. winning 6 on 6 days. When I settle in and start playing like I would on UB I do shit.. perhaps there's a message there?

Anyway I'll keep the singles up and keep track of the progress. Hopefully I can run well and then move up to $100's.

Ended up going down -$150 after my first session.

Lost AK AIPF vs 22 A5 vs JT and one guy hit every draw. :(

Going to play 2 more and see how I do. Then take a break and have a session before jits. 

Won those 2.. so only down 1. The jury is still out!!

Suffered a bunch more bad beats.. AIPF with AQ vs A9.. all in with AA vs T4.. board xxTK.. he catches a 4 on the river. 

Hit a set and he turns a straight.

Basically not running great. Currently -$10 (rake). 

Also discovered that I bluff more when tired.. so I need to watch that!

Had my AA cracked by 55.. raise.. reraise.. flop 346.. all in.. of course he catches :( Next hand he calls my all in A6 with A3 and flops a 3 :((

Ended up going -$19.. which was all rake.. so essentially even. Not a good result, but I did win a $50 on FTP.. it was so easy. The level of play there is shite. After winning 5 straight I'm seriously thinking of moving there. UB 30's are tough.. FTP 50's are soft... hmmmm

2 To 1

Got lucky once.. but that soon changed as I lost to 3-2 when an idiot pushes on a A53 board. I had AQ. Same dickhead then shoves with AK which catches an A to beat my KK. :(

Ended the first session +$26

Won my $50 on FTP. That makes 4 in a row. The quality of $50 opps seems weaker than the $30 guys I'm playing in UB! Seriously, the reason I'm thinking of moving up is because the UB games have got much much tougher. There is no longer the divide between the $30 and $50 games there. The $30's play as tough as the $50's used to.

Played my second session and had two TOUGH games. One ending at the 150 blind level, the other at the 200 blind level. I was unlucky in the first game twice.. all in with k8 vs A8 on a TT8x board.. we ended up splitting and then all in with QQ vs AJ.. he turned a J. But I won the game in the end.

The 200 game I won when I pushed with KQ suited vs AX and rivered a K... lucky there, but balanced perhaps by poor luck in the other game.

Ended up +$83.. plus of course the $50 on FTP. 

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Sundays seem to attract tough players. I've managed to win 2 straight... then play a 5 game session where I lost 3 won 2.. so only up $19 so far.

The good news is that FTP couldn't be going much better.. I'm up 3 straight there over 3 days. So far so good!!

Edit: Managed to win 2 straight.. so +$79

Slowly Slowly Catchee Monkey

Things went fine in the $30 games. Winning $111. Also played a $50 on FTP and won that. Did the same yesterday, although only winning $80 on UB. It seems as long as I don't play too much, and play my best, I do OK. Therefore if I want to make good money I need to work my way up to the $200 level. I know I've tried this before, moving up to the $50 level, but I've always played too much and ended up doing worse than at the $30 level.

So now I intend to run two rolls. My normal UB roll which I live off, and my experimental FTP roll. As soon as I've won my first $500 on FTP I'm going to withdraw it so it's all a freeroll. Hopefully I can work my way up to the $200 level and make it profitable. I'd love to be pulling in sick money. 

If this fails, I'll be back to try it again until I get it right! Making 2k a month forever isn't going to cut it.

So I'm playing in my second game of the day against an aggressive player. I pick up QQ.. He raises.. i reraise pot. Flop AKx.. MEH!! I check.. he pushes all in and I insta fold.

Later in the same game I pick up AJ. I raise preflop... he reraises after limping.. this is odd. Flop is Axx.. looks good for me. I check.. he checks. Turn is another x. He bets a third of the pot.. I insta shove for his remaining 500.. he calls on... QQ.. baboom.. the guy couldn't fold his and lost. Poetic justice if ever there was any!!!

I'm thinking about heading back to FTP and trying to move up in limits. I feel the reason I haven't been successful in the past is I've always wanted to play too much.. hence losing my edge. This time I'll play 2 games per day at the $50 level until I get my original $500 back. Then I'll withdraw that and be essentially on a freeroll. I intend to move up to $100 and $200 limits eventually. But NEVER overplaying, which is SO destructive.

Lost aipf with KK vs 33.. that sucked. Then lost the game when I had 14 outs all in post flop :(

Even

 So far won 2 and lost 2. Played fine.. just went card dead in the high blinds.

Finally sucked out on someone with 99 aipf beating AA..yay me!!

Lost 3 AIPF in a row when I was WAY ahead to a moron.. eg JJ vs A9.. fuck 

Ended up beating that moron though it felt I beat him 4 times for the win. Won $138 for the day which is of course a pleasing result.

Lazy

Was a little sick yesterday after two days of not enough sleep. Today I slept about 12 hours but feel fuzzy in the head. So I made myself play 2 games, careful not to call raises when I shouldn't. When I sleep to much I always turn into a calling station. I managed to win both and then quit.. as I know my head isn't right.

Edit: Played again after jits and won 2 more. Ended up +$111

Came back to win 2 games that I could have easily lost... ROARR ME ;)

The last win was especially pleasing against a tricky opp who held good cards.

Just lost to two maniacs.. AIPF with AK vs A2 and a 2 outer on the river. Two awful beats. FUCK!!

Just played a guy who pushed in 18 times.. yes 18.. before I finally caught AA and cleaned him up! That was sweet as he was a VERY annoying fuck.

Lost 3 all ins to a bluffy fuck after I had him down to 300. I was card dead and he ended up winning. That sucked!!!!!

Managed to win a tough game when my AT sucked out against QQ (150 blinds). Yay good luck. Yesterday sucked.. so that helps a little.

Ended up winning 4 games straight which made up for yesterday. More importantly it snapped my losing streak. Most often I seem to lose in 2-3 day stretches.. so this is good news.

Tough Games

Played a lot of tough games lately, that have ended up at the 150 or even 200 blind ranges. Just finished off a tough opponnent after giving him a life with a dumb bluff.

The very hand after the dumb bluff I put a set over set cooler on him and would have had the game won if I hadn't previously halved my chip stack.

There might be a lesson in there somewhere.

Playing tough means 100%.. not 99%

So Fucking Wrong

Just lost the sickest match. Against an idiot bluffer... I have him outchipped 2-1.. he raises.. flop is k77 of hearts. I have AT hearts. He pushes and I call. He shows A9.. so his only out is a non heart 9 which gives him 3 outs.. Sure enough it falls on the turn. Then he pushes all in on a flush draw and hits. So two suckouts in a row to that ARESHOLE!!!!!!

So I'm one 3 outer away from being up $90.. and once I miss that the day goes to FUCKING SHIT.. I play too much and get too pissed off.

Running Well

Winning my fair share of flips.. probably 60-40 in them, which is NICE.

Only won $40 today, but it kept the winning streak alive which counts.  I've won 18 days straight and have every intention of trying for 100!
