I'm not sure how useful me writing down goals is, but I'll do it anyway.
It can't hurt.

1. The Prime Directive! No matter what NEVER return to work.
To do this obviously I need to earn enough money from poker.

2. Make a successful move to $100 HU. It took years to get from $30 to $50..
hopefully I can make the transition to $100 much quicker.

3. Save every month. Even if it's only 1jt..stay in the habit of making depositos.

4. Be a good dad and husband.

Right now I'm feeling very very low. I have less than $200 online and no way to get more except a bank transfer. I got raped with bad beat after bad beat. I've had a stressful, shitty, tiring, tilty day and I just feel shit.

Played a 2 hour session. Had pretty tough opps in general and made the error of playing a guy who beat me again. He wasn't as bad as I thought and had adjusted to my style. I ended up losing twice.

Eventually won $37, but was very fatigued by the end of the session, making very silly errors.

When I get my shark then I'll start the move up to $100. I have to have some impetus. So that's it. If I can make the move work well then I'll be so much better off. Here's hoping!!

Won 4 straight!! Got to be happy with that. This makes my run now at least 8 straight wins! Won 3 straight yesterday, 4 today and the last game I played 2 days ago. Yay me!

I guess it's a worry to play that much, that's exactly the sort of behaviour that lead to me having losing days. I'll keep it under control!

Learning

I've learned a few things over the last few months:

1) The more players, the more morons. FTP has a heap of players while UB has a few. Hence there is much better value to be had at FTP. To the extent that the FTP $50 games are MUCH softer than the UB $30's. Goodbye UB.

2) Short sessions. This makes SUCH a huge difference that it can mean the difference between making money and losing money. You simply have to work short, short, short sessions.

3) Happy hour attracts the fish. More players=more fish=yum yum.

4) I really can make a nice income at the $50 level, I mean a really nice income.

5) The longer FTP structure means less variability, but of course also longer games.

Made $137 in my first session. Am planning on working again after I pick up the boys. This could be a $200++ day!!

Had AA cracked. Also lost my net connection. FUCK lost a game thx to that!!

Sleep!!

Decided to have a crack at the $100 games and then blew that idea out of the water by getting about 5 hours sleep.

Managed to make $175, played against a VERY aggressive fucker, who beat me in a couple, but I won the war.

Today is Slam's birthday. All he got was a lousy toy snake and some WII games, but he is as happy as ever. What a lovely kid he is. A mystery how I managed that 6 sigma-luckbox-suckout. Two great kids and not having to work is really as good as it gets.

Had a tool call all in with a nearly full stack on 3-4 os. Luckily my mighty AK stood up. Whew.

Ended session 1 with $90 after losing one match and winning 3.

Went to Centro and the kids played in the soft play center for about 90 mins. They had a great time and we'll definitely have to take them back next weekend!

I played an aggressive bluffer who beat me twice in a row, but I came back to get him and win 4 straight. The funny thing was he was still convinced I was shit, after I whipped him 4 times!! Ended up +$175.. which is awesome. I think between 3.5 and 4k is possible at the $50 level. There are so many shite players there and the structure is so good.

Hopefully the move to $100 goes as well. I'll be thinking about that when I have consolidated and have a few rupiah in the bank!!

Luckily I ended up winning the game anyway, as I had twice his stack at that stage.

Also went to watch the finals of the Asian Beach Games wrestling. Took Ziggy along. It was cool, but I only got to see 2 matches.

Played like a tool in my second game on FTP. Pushed with TT vs AQ against a hyper aggro opponent. Won that flip. Later in the game I pushed with 77 against AK. Luckily I won the flip but really I should have seen the flop, which was low and then pushed. I got away with it, but it was a poor play!!

Couldn't win with QQ vs KJ or fold it after KK was on the board. Also lost AIPF with AA vs 44 after he flopped a 4. :(

Lost $41 on UB :(( Basically one game down + rake. Won 3 on FTP.  So up $137 there.

I Hate the TV

Spent most of the day dragging around increasingly whiny kids as we shopped for house stuff. Bought a nice Sharp 32 inch TV, which looks HUGE compared to the old computer monitor I had been using. Also bought a computer table and a bookshelf. Tomorrow we get 2 large wardrobes to store our clothes and stuff. Should make the house look a little tidier!!

Came back late and tired, so played two games on FTP. Beat the same guy twice for +$95. He was a pretty ordinary player and shouldn't have been at the $50 level. FTP has so many people playing there must be 1000's of fish at the $50 and higher levels.

Won $82 on UB and won my match on FTP. That leaves me with $472.. plus rakeback which means I'm basically +$250 so far on FTP. I've been playing there since the 10th.. so That's $250 in 11 days, which makes my estimate of $750 a month from their look fairly accurate. 

The important thing is to cash out $250.. so my initial deposit has been recovered, then build the stack up to 2k so I can start playinf the $100's. With SO MANY games going there must be plenty of donks at the $100 and $200 levels. I really think that FTP is my only realistic shot of making serious money. So I'll keep pursuing it.

Wasn't playing great in the morning. Was $19 up. Went to Bali Deli with the kids and dropped off my fkashdisk to Niko could watch UFC 89. Then when I got back I won 3 straight to end up $110.

Took the boys to the beach and they had a great time. Spent about 2 hours collecting crabs and so on. 

All in all a nice day.

New Style

Tried changing to the mini raise style. One thing I noticed is that all the games I've played have finished faster and I'm enjoying that. The games going to 150-200 all the time blinds can be a real drag!!

Not even 11:am and I'm up $111.. I could keep playing.. who knows!

Ended up $51 on UB which is a but shit, but made up for it by winning my game on FTP. This raises an interesting point. When I play single games there I seem to do great.. winning 6 on 6 days. When I settle in and start playing like I would on UB I do shit.. perhaps there's a message there?

Anyway I'll keep the singles up and keep track of the progress. Hopefully I can run well and then move up to $100's.

Ended up going -$19.. which was all rake.. so essentially even. Not a good result, but I did win a $50 on FTP.. it was so easy. The level of play there is shite. After winning 5 straight I'm seriously thinking of moving there. UB 30's are tough.. FTP 50's are soft... hmmmm

Got lucky once.. but that soon changed as I lost to 3-2 when an idiot pushes on a A53 board. I had AQ. Same dickhead then shoves with AK which catches an A to beat my KK. :(

Ended the first session +$26

Won my $50 on FTP. That makes 4 in a row. The quality of $50 opps seems weaker than the $30 guys I'm playing in UB! Seriously, the reason I'm thinking of moving up is because the UB games have got much much tougher. There is no longer the divide between the $30 and $50 games there. The $30's play as tough as the $50's used to.

Played my second session and had two TOUGH games. One ending at the 150 blind level, the other at the 200 blind level. I was unlucky in the first game twice.. all in with k8 vs A8 on a TT8x board.. we ended up splitting and then all in with QQ vs AJ.. he turned a J. But I won the game in the end.

The 200 game I won when I pushed with KQ suited vs AX and rivered a K... lucky there, but balanced perhaps by poor luck in the other game.

Ended up +$83.. plus of course the $50 on FTP. 

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Sundays seem to attract tough players. I've managed to win 2 straight... then play a 5 game session where I lost 3 won 2.. so only up $19 so far.

The good news is that FTP couldn't be going much better.. I'm up 3 straight there over 3 days. So far so good!!

Slowly Slowly Catchee Monkey

Things went fine in the $30 games. Winning $111. Also played a $50 on FTP and won that. Did the same yesterday, although only winning $80 on UB. It seems as long as I don't play too much, and play my best, I do OK. Therefore if I want to make good money I need to work my way up to the $200 level. I know I've tried this before, moving up to the $50 level, but I've always played too much and ended up doing worse than at the $30 level.

So now I intend to run two rolls. My normal UB roll which I live off, and my experimental FTP roll. As soon as I've won my first $500 on FTP I'm going to withdraw it so it's all a freeroll. Hopefully I can work my way up to the $200 level and make it profitable. I'd love to be pulling in sick money. 

If this fails, I'll be back to try it again until I get it right! Making 2k a month forever isn't going to cut it.

So I'm playing in my second game of the day against an aggressive player. I pick up QQ.. He raises.. i reraise pot. Flop AKx.. MEH!! I check.. he pushes all in and I insta fold.

Later in the same game I pick up AJ. I raise preflop... he reraises after limping.. this is odd. Flop is Axx.. looks good for me. I check.. he checks. Turn is another x. He bets a third of the pot.. I insta shove for his remaining 500.. he calls on... QQ.. baboom.. the guy couldn't fold his and lost. Poetic justice if ever there was any!!!

I'm thinking about heading back to FTP and trying to move up in limits. I feel the reason I haven't been successful in the past is I've always wanted to play too much.. hence losing my edge. This time I'll play 2 games per day at the $50 level until I get my original $500 back. Then I'll withdraw that and be essentially on a freeroll. I intend to move up to $100 and $200 limits eventually. But NEVER overplaying, which is SO destructive.

Lost aipf with KK vs 33.. that sucked. Then lost the game when I had 14 outs all in post flop :(

Lazy

Was a little sick yesterday after two days of not enough sleep. Today I slept about 12 hours but feel fuzzy in the head. So I made myself play 2 games, careful not to call raises when I shouldn't. When I sleep to much I always turn into a calling station. I managed to win both and then quit.. as I know my head isn't right.

Edit: Played again after jits and won 2 more. Ended up +$111

Managed to win a tough game when my AT sucked out against QQ (150 blinds). Yay good luck. Yesterday sucked.. so that helps a little.

Ended up winning 4 games straight which made up for yesterday. More importantly it snapped my losing streak. Most often I seem to lose in 2-3 day stretches.. so this is good news.

Tough Games

Played a lot of tough games lately, that have ended up at the 150 or even 200 blind ranges. Just finished off a tough opponnent after giving him a life with a dumb bluff.

The very hand after the dumb bluff I put a set over set cooler on him and would have had the game won if I hadn't previously halved my chip stack.

There might be a lesson in there somewhere.

Playing tough means 100%.. not 99%

Just lost the sickest match. Against an idiot bluffer... I have him outchipped 2-1.. he raises.. flop is k77 of hearts. I have AT hearts. He pushes and I call. He shows A9.. so his only out is a non heart 9 which gives him 3 outs.. Sure enough it falls on the turn. Then he pushes all in on a flush draw and hits. So two suckouts in a row to that ARESHOLE!!!!!!

So I'm one 3 outer away from being up $90.. and once I miss that the day goes to FUCKING SHIT.. I play too much and get too pissed off.

Running Well

Winning my fair share of flips.. probably 60-40 in them, which is NICE.

Only won $40 today, but it kept the winning streak alive which counts.  I've won 18 days straight and have every intention of trying for 100!

Played two tough opps in my first two games and held on to beat them both!!

It was a good start to the day. They dominated early, but I played my best for the wins.

Cool Day

Spent all day with Cyrus and Meitri at their villa. It was a great day.. we swam and explored the grounds and then ate fish that Cyrus had speared. he caught a huge 30 kg fish that tasted awesome!

Then when I got home at 8 pm I played 3 straight and won them!!

Luck Has Improved

Had NO luck all game against an aggressive calling station. For example I have AK.. flop AKT. He bluffs the pot for 200.. I flat call.. next hand is the J he pushes all in. FUCK. I knew he was betting on the inside straight draw!!!

Eventually caught the stupid fuck by pushing with Q8 with 150 blinds.. he calls on 98 so I double up to 1500.. Then catch him bluffing for 300. Then push on AT.. he calls on QJ and I hit the river to resuck.

I've fought my way back from the brink in a quite a few games recently. I think I'm playing pretty tough and not giving up!!

Interesting Hand

Had an interesting hand in the $15 deepstack tourney.

About 30 players left. I have a stack of 7k.. I limp with QcJc along with 2 others. Flop comes down Ac Kc 7d Two all ins in front of me... I decided to call and blanked off to 2 pair and AT... I was 37%.. so it's tough to know what to do. Overall I think call is right simply because if I catch I end up top 3 in chips and a cert to go deep..

Ended up making $61 hu.. which isn't a great result, but at least it's money in and not money out. The month is looking shit, but hopefully I'll be able to scrape up around 10 jt and that should see us through.

Had a decent day at the tarbs, earning $160. This has been a shocking month. If I average $100 for the next 12 days I'll be up fuck all. Tourney Patience

Seems the tourney + 1 HU match works well. Didn't cash in the tourneys (didn't play great) but did win $113 HU. So a good result.

This month looks salvagable after a crappy few days.

Cashed in some of my points to play tourneys and managed to cash in 2 of them, as well as win 6 hu games in a row..

Great Play

I've played some of my best poker to win the last 6 games straight. Very good, patient poker.. I guess it was time I got my shit together.

Repair

Well after two days of silly fighting Iin and I made up. It was probably effecting my poker, so it was an EV++ makeup.

I won 3 straight and took a rest for the day.

I enjoyed BJJ and rolled with a guy from Jakarta who had been doing Jits for 5 years. I subbed him with a toe hold and he then finally received his blue belt from Niko... ironic.

Well I moved up to $50 again.. and the level of competition has been tougher so that my overall results have suffered quite badly. Back down to the $30's. Playing $30's I was averaging over $100 a day for first few days of the month.. playing $50's I'm averaging $35.. hmm

Move up.. get knocked back down again. I guess I need to suplement with tournament entries through my raise points. That should generate extra income.. it's just that tourneys are so painful.. but if it's my only source of income I need to suck it up.

Went back to $30 and won 2 straight to make $89 for the day.

Sleepy

Well the highlight of the day was jits.. where I refused to tap to a collar choke and went to sleep. The weird thing was I immediately started dreaming.. bizarre.

Had a rough day at the tables going on tilt and then fighting back from -$200.. yuck. Came back to win $38

Flying High

Strongish winds at Timbis and plenty of fun to be had. I flew twice and enjoyed myself, despite there being quite a few assclowns around.

Had a nice day today. Eric came around for more poker lessons. I managed to coach him into losing $25 lol. No doubt we'll do better tomorrow. 

Ketut rang Eric when he was here and told him the wind was great for flying so I went up and flew for a while. The wind was perfect and the flying was really enjoyable, although top landing was a little tricky due to the wind being straight on.

Matty

Heard from Matt Green today when he sent me a message on myspace. Amazing. I haven't seen Matty in 12 years. He's a great guy. Apparently he married a girl from India and they settled down in Melbourne. I have no idea what else he has been up to, apart from having one child (8).. but no doubt I'll find out more.

I won $102 playing poker. Mostly only got to play after BJJ as I was busy before then and also slept a lot of the day away. 

The creatine might have kept me awake, at least thats what I'm blaming. Or perhaps the two Teh Botols I consumed.

FTP

I finally sorted out my email address on FTP, so finally I should be able to withdraw money.. assuming I make some. I'm thinking about grinding out a few sit-n-gos there. Multi tabling 4 at a time. If that works out I might consider using the monitor to 8 table and maybe 12 table. I'd hate to have an internet failure!!! 

I started on creatine yesterday. I'm not sure what effect it's having, but I'll keep it up for a few weeks. I'd like to put on 7 kg's of muscle. That would put me at 77kg's which would ve great for BJJ competitions. The idea of cutting to 66kg is a bit much. Of course I could just improve my skills so that I didn't need the extra weight/strength, but I'm trying to do that as well. 

Made $72 in my first session. I'll see about another session later, or maybe some more sit-n-gos.

Ran badly and took bad beats all day long. Also wasn't as patient as I should have been. Only won $13. Meh.

Did fine at HU, winning $132 which I was pleased about.

I qualified for some UB freeroll and was playing it very agressively as I figured it would have 1000's of players... Nope only a handful and I went out in 27th place to a bad beat. TT.. 855  flop, I raise.. some dickhead pushes all in on KQ os.. IGHN. Sigh. I'd have been more careful if I knew I was that close to the money. Bugger.

Went to the gym today and did my legs. Tomorrow must be chest and shoulders I guess. I don't enjoy the gym much but I want the extra bulk.

Swingy!!

Went on tilt after being sucked out on about 4 games in a row against a complete tool. Ended up merely down $290 at one stage (with two games in progress). This was all at the $30 level, which is impressive! Then started the comeback and ended up -$25 (rake). A LONG session that really sucked, but at least not much damage done.

After lunch I'm off to the gym and then I'll fire up and try and make a profit.. it's been a tough couple of weeks.

Edit: Didn't make it to the gym but I did manage to keep fighting till I made $73. That was a TOUGH day. I probably played 40+ games.

Mental Alertness

Watched an intersting TED talk on the brain and it made me realize the obvious: namely mental alertness is the key to me playing good poker. I joined the local gym today, that should give me a mental boost every morning. Also I'm trying to fix my sleep patterns...

Well I managed to turn + 78 into -60 in a $140 losing session. After that I went to  FTP and blew my roll there... STUPIDITY FTW!!!!!!!!

Slam's First Day

Slam finally had his first day at school today. He enjoyed it. I made $78 in my first session, but I'm a bit pissed because I lost a game after being SO card dead.. meh. Still money is money. I'll play another session later and make more cash.

Too Small

Made $104 today. Didn't have a great start, but came back to win $17 in the first session and then won 3 straight in the second session.
Slam didn't end up going to school as he was sick and hot all through the night. It seems like he is over that now though.  So tomorrow I wake up EARLY and take him for his first day of primary school.
Also I'm considering hitting the gym. I know BJJ is not about size, but I'm getting bruised and crushed in training. I think a little more muscle would do me some good. So I'm off to find a gym.
Finally I've joined dueces cracked for a month in order to get hold of their omaha hi vids. I really want to learn that game as an alternative to hu sng.

Rolling Along

Today went as it is supposed to. I made $159 in a solid day's work. Slam has been grumpy and disagreeable for the last couple of weeks. I think it's the move. Hopefully he'll settle down after he gets used to his new school.

I have to get up WAY too early tomorrow.. 7:15 in the morning so I can drive Slam to school. That is going to bite.. but U have to live with it.

The plan for tomorrow is more patience and another 3 figure day.

Random Outage

Well I spent most of the day organizing school for the boys. I also changed my attitude to play with much more confidence.

Suffered a random net outage in a game and lost my patience a little in another so only made $22.. but it could be worse. I'll be back tomorrow with patience and make decent money. I'm a lot more confident now I'm working on my attitude.

Saturday

Worked in the morning and got off to a slow start, losing the first couple of games before I finally ended up $43. Then played another session in the afternoon and ended up +145 for the day.

Slam went to his friends restaurant and had a good time there so we went to Centro with Ziggy. The traffuc sucked, but I Picked up a bunch of WII games for the boys and me.

Happy Days

The net has been great the last 3 days with the exception of a bizarre timeout which cost me a $50 against a fish. Consequently I'm making a few dollars and the stress of not being able to work is lifting.
The immediate goal is to get 100jt put away as a safety net. After that I'll worry about fixing the house and so on.
I made $93 in my first session today and will prob wait till after jits before I play again. Things are starting to look good at last! 

Bumper Crop

Yesterday was a great day at work. Made $285 by winning 10 straight games... that's really a great result. Unfortunately today I haven't played so well and have managed snap my 2 day winning streak in the first game. Still, 16 in a row is a nice run.
Geoff had two LONG flights today and even top landed. He was stoked and is starting to take to flying.

The boys are fine and all else is well.

Edit: Just when I have a dickhead on the line my connection to UB completely dies.. fuck I lose a $50... grr.. profit for the day $88... fuck fuck shit.

Net Stress

More net stress thanks to bloody Speedy. I'm losing about $100 a day thanks to the friggin net.
I just hope it sorts itself as this is really stressing me.

Damm Net

Went from winning $80 to losing $66 all due to the net. I'm hoping Sundays are just bad days for Telkom Speedy, or they ar going through a bad patch. If not then i'll have to consider Blueline. Man this completely bites!

Bikes

The boys are getting their bikes today.. they are pretty stoked.

My net was getting dodgy :(  but managed to time out and reconnect and eventually win going ftom 2300 to 700 thanks to lost chips. 

Hopefully it'll improve enough to play later, I hate dodgy net.

Also Geoff had his first solo flights yesterday, so that was way cool. He hiked up the cliff three times which he didn't enjoy much!

Waited all fucking day for the net to arrive.. finally 5 hours after I called the guy turned up.
Obviously I had to buy a new modem.. there's no way this one would still work.

So did I finally fix my modem? I changed the setting randomly and now it is going great guns. I guess if it ends up being stuffed then I've made $60 which will cover my upcoming modem losses. I'd really love for the little beast to work.. that would be an AWESOME suckout!!!

Made $128 today, my best day in Bali. If the modem really is working I'll be cashing in big time.. I won't even have to stress about Telkom Speedy.

Bali

Well I'm here in Bali at last. It's been an interesting and frustrating week and a half.
The first bad beat was excess luggage. I got stung $400 SGD for that.
We arrived in Surabaya and the car wasn't ready. It was still being worked on for the
whole time we were there. Also I couldn't get my license without a Kitas. Another bad beat.
Then we arrived and found there were no AC rooms. That sucked.
When we got to Bali we hired a Taruna. As we were leaving Centro some 2 year old kid runs
in front of the car and I run his leg over. That was a shitload of hassle and 9jt down the drain.
The net has really sucked. I bought a modem for the laptop for 2jt.. that cost me about
5 games before I stopped using it. I completely disconnected at random times. What a
piece of shit.

So the good news (I hope) is that we are buying a house. I hope I run better for this.
So far I'm in for 3jt... my fingers are crossed.

The Rounder

First session I ended up +$71, which is pleasing. I had a couple of nasty beats.. 99 vs 87 aipf and AA vs 75.. but also sucked out with KQ vs KK.. so I can't complain.

Even more pleasing I managed to come back from the dead and beat rounder627 in two games.

Finished the day +$269, which is awesome!! Also organized leaving Singapore shit, like closing a bank account and shipping 3.4k to fucking Starhub... aresholes!!

Lost my rag a bit and made some silly plays which left me only winning $50 in my
first session. I'll wait till I calm down a bit and then come back for some more.

The Last Tuesday

Well I just had my last Tuesday at work. I'll be glad when Wednesday, Thursday and Friday have also passed. It was uneventful. Thank goodness I've pretty much finished reports and all I have to do is grind out the lessons.

I made $69 at Ub after making a pretty dumb play, and also won another $50 game on Stars.
My Stars roll is on $727, up from my original $300. No doubt the games are a little tougher there, but I'm still winning at a good rate. I can't wait to build up to 2k so I can take a shot at the $100 games.. I SO hope I can make big money from them!!!! 100k a year please!

Friday

Well I worked on reports after school... I was SO tired...came home and didn't want to play poker. We went over to Andrew's house and hung out while the boys played.

Then I came back and had the energy to play a couple of games which I won. +$57 

Thursday

Well one Thurday down...one to go.. woohoo

I'm still way behind in my reports etc.. but I'll get it all done by Monday.

I'm completely sick of teaching.. bleh.. but one day and one week to go.. I can hold on... maybe need a few videos to get me and the kids through.

Made $119.. winning 4 straight.. had some luck in one.. all in at only 36% and sucked out
for the win!

Tuesday

Tuesday, my least favourite work day has passed. Only one more to go!!
Woohoo.. only one more Tuesday to go... I love that idea!

Anyway not much to report. It rained heavily. I didn't have to teach 7.02 as they had an exam, and I only had 8.07 for 25 mins.. that's really a bonus.

I got home and made $113 and now I'm off to mark a few more essays. I'll finish the grade 8's today. the grade 7's tomorrow, and the grade 6's Thursday/Friday. Sat will be the reports, and I'm done!!

Ended up going $155, which is awesome for a Tuesday!

9 More Days

Only 9 more teaching days to go! Freedom is so close I can taste it.

I went to the park with the boys/Iin, Andrew/Ambar. The boys had a great time.

I made $40 on UB and $5o on Stars. I just couldn't get going on UB.

Still $90 is OK. I don't know wether to count the Stars money as I'm saving for a shot at $100. So far on the $50 I've been running OK... roll is up to $500.

UFC 84

Just watched UFC 84, except the Penn-Sherk fight, which isn't up yet. It was a great event with everyone I wanted to win, winning.

Blue Belt Benny

Had to fight blue belt benny today in a match at the end of BJJ class. Luckily I survived in his guard long enough to catch his arm in a seat belt. I passed guard.. passed to side control and then mount.. all without releasing the trapped arm. From mount I ratched his arm up to get the submission. :) A proud moment.

I won $136 on UB after a slow start and also $50 on Stars.. so $186 which is fine.

Played 3, won 3. Poker is rolling along nicely! I'll have to remember to look back on this when I start running like shit again. It will happen.. it's just a matter of time. But for now it is summer in pokerland, and I'm running well.

I'm going out with my Singapore BJJ mates tonight for my farrewell dinner. I think it's very nice of Kon to organize it and for them to come along.

Straight Flush!

Lost with a couple of unlucky hands today. Full house J8 on 388TJ board, to a straight flush!
Also lost to set over set. Both are rare and unlucky losses.. but that's poker.
Ended the first session -$10

Came back for the second session and ended up +$124. This is a great result really. I played a lot of games, but $124 on a weekday rocks.

I'm thinking about moving up to the $100's on Stars one day. I know I've failed in the past when I move there, but really Ithink that's I focused on qualifying for higher VPP status. 
This meant I played too many games, got burnt out, went on tilt.. If I stuck to my short session method I could average $200-$300 a day. Time will tell.

13 More Days

13 to go.. I still have a heap of work to do.. but I can't wait for it to be over.

Today I played my longest game ever on UB.. deep into 100-200 blinds. I sucked out about 4 times to eventually win it.. WOOHOO... I'd written the game off several times when I finally miracled my way to the win.

Made $116 which is always a pleasing result for a weekday. May is going very well so far.

Edit: played again and won 2 games quickly...+$174...very nice for a Monday!!

Ziggy's Birthday

Ziggy turned 5 today. This birthday was so different to the last. He REALLY wanted a cake and candles, the whole deal. So we did that, he had a smile a mile wide.

Slam came back after 2 days at Hathatm's place. He had a ball of course.

Started off the day by going -$107 :(  

Then I took a break and ended up -$52 after the second session.

Another break and after the third session I was up $42. Then I played one more time to end up $99

I'm feeling pretty happy. I slept about 9 1/2 hours, which I needed.
I won 3 games straight to make a nice $85 dollar start to the day.
Tomorrow is a public holiday and I have 3 weeks of work left before I'm back in Bali and fulltime. 
Also Niko Han has opened a BJJ school in Bali, so I'll have quality BJJ on my doorstep!
Slam is staying another night at his friend Hatham's house.
Ziggy is happy at home playing by himself.
Life looks good right now!....But not as good as it will look in 3 weeks!!!

Won  $200 today. Made a great start going up $139, but couldn't really capitalize on it, only winning $61 in the later sessions. Still $200 is a good day.

Watched the IFL which had 2 kneebar finishes.. I have to learn how to pull those off. I also went out to Orchard with Iin and Ziggy. Slam is sleeping at his mates place (Hatham).

15 More

15 More work days to go. 15 more times I have to wake up early and whore myself to David Perry. Admittedly he pays me well for teaching, but in just 15 more work days (3 calendar weeks) I'm FREE!!!

Lost $205 today! Played way too much without a break, of course. Played tough opps and of course wasn't lucky. Meh.

Came back from the park to win 3 straight! Why can't I walk away when I'm losing and take a break??? Talk about no learning curve!

UB was so dead, it took forever for me to get a game. I heard from Jeff, which is cool. He was towed to 3000 feet. That would be way cool.

Hot Stove

Anisah snapped at me today. I'd done very little to piss her off, but she'd been to a funeral for a relative the day before and was still stressed. Naturally I copped it :(
Later in the day she explained her work stresses, most of which came from her working hard and Lennan being lazy. She apologized later in the day and now we are all happy happy joy joy.

Got home from work and made $141 at poker. This is a great effort for after school on a Thursday :)

My money arrived in my BCA account which is simply awesome news!

Running Better

Won 4 straight after work and ran well.. winning when I was ahead and even sucking out once when I was behind. So THIS is what it feels like!

Made $51 yesterday and $59 today ($5 bonus cleared). I'm in the middle of cashing out to my BCA account, so I hope that goes well. You never can tell with Indonesian banks. Often they like to sit on money just because they can.

Today I got home after table tennis ECA and fell fast asleep. Slept like a baby for an hour at the foot of the bed as Slam played computer games and Ziggy slept. I feel good now, but no doubt I wont sleep later tonight. I can't wait for the next 5 weeks to be over so it doesn't matter when I sleep!

Jits Success

At last I've started to improve a bit at BJJ. Today I caught Sean in a sweet omoplata and Justin in a figure 4 armlock from the half-guard. This is the first time I've ever caught these two. The last two weeks I've also caught Hongjie.

Finally after months of training I'm starting to show signs of improvement!

Tough

Well the last few days I've been running like shit, bad beat after bad beat. But I've stayed tough and not gone straight into tilt-monkey mode. I'm proud of myself for that, it would have been so easy to lose 100's. In the end I managed to make a profit for all 3 days.

Went up $42 today, then went to jits and the Botanical Gardens with thw boys. Ran really well when I got back to win 4 straight. +$161

Today was a tough on the tables. Ran badly early to go down over a $100. Never had any soft players, it was just a struggle all night, but ended up +$31.

Another Goot Day

Well I got home from work and made $127. Poker is running GOOT at the moment, which is not to say that I'm being lucky, I'm running a little better than normal but more importantly I'm playing morons. YAY IDIOTS :)

New Record

Played OK when I got home to go up $53. Then I went to the park with the boys. When I got back I came across a moron who lost 3 games straight to me in 10 mins. Calls all in on T7 vs my AAc Board was Tc 8c 3c and so on. Then I beat one more tough guy to win $173 for the day, which is a glorious weekday record!!

Saturday

First session I was up $52. Played too much and after I donked off my last game I took a break. I'll update later.
I have bjj at 2pm and then the boys' judo to watch. After that the plan is to go to Little India for a meal.
I ran into Miles last night and hopefully we'll go out for a meal later on this week.
I played again later that arvo and won another couple. I'm playing without patience which sux, hopefully I'll get it together later on in the arvo.

Went to bjj and enjoyed that. Subbed Hong Jie for the second week in a row and also subbed a guy whose name I think is Tim.

Friday

Thank goodness another week is over.
This was a pretty normal week, no big dramas thank goodness. I made $83 after work which was good.. Man I'm so tired I could sleep 12 hours. I hope I do!

I got a nice email from Fleur after our WASC meeting where she said I did brilliantly, so that was lovely.

WASC

Had the WASC team interview the SALS at school. It wasn't a problem, they were very nice.
Tomorrow I have another meeting as part of the language group.

Made $36 at poker, which isn't too bad considering I was way down $80 at one stage. I ate too much lemon slice, hence too much sugar and didn't play my best.

7 Weeks to go

Played 2 HU matches and won them. One was tough, so I was happy to pull that one out.
The weeks are slowly ticking away.. emphasis on the slowly, but I will make it and when I do, I'm determinded to stay out. This has been WAY WAY WAY too much pain to EVER end up here again.

I've learned my lesson!

Pokay

The boys are both recovering after being sick, so we stayed at home both Saturday and Sunday.
This meant I had free reign to play plenty of poker. Made $186 today, which is a good result. So far this month has been retarded, with parent teacher making me too buggered to win money + Wordplay. Looks like it'll be one of the worst months on record here in Singas.

On a positive note the leg/back feels great. I'm stoked to be healthy again WOOHOO.

Played a few more against a fish and ended up +$277 on UB.. but lost a few donkaments on FTP..still can't argue with $277 :)

Heard from my mate Jeff, which is awesome. He's a top guy and an awesome flyer.
I headed back for my second session at BJJ after my injury layoff. The good news is I rolled pain free. The bad news is I got my arse handed to me as usual.. I'm gonna miss it and hope I can train in Bali.

Poker I did $114.. not sure how I've has such a crappy month, only $500 so far, but guess I've been working too hard!

Played and won 2x4 man $20 donkaments on FTP to go up $120 there. Needed to rebuild the roll.. it was

Tough Two Weeks

Man it was a tough two weeks. Parent teacher interviews, followed by Wordplay. I have a pile of marking a mile high to deal with. But in 8 weeks everything will have been completed!

Wordplay

Wordplay is finally over! It was weeks of rehearsal followed by performances on 3 nights. I got home at 8:30 on Wed and Thurs. So exhausted I couldn't play poker!!!

Still tired tonight (Friday). Played and won two.. ended up +45. Even better is that my Full Tilt rakeback arrived, so I'll be back there trying to build that back up.

Tough weekend

Ended up going -$114 for the weekend. Ran into a guy who played similarly to me 
and ran better than God. Strangely he beat me 4-0.
Such is like :)

More interviews

Finally the parent=teacher interviews are over. They were exhausting as expected.

I didn't play much poker over the 2 days and the little I did play wasn't high quality. Luckily I came out ahead +$16

Interviews

Had the first day of parent-teacher interview. Thankfully everything went well, no unhappy parents. I have two more full days which will be exhausting!

Fire!

Well the only exciting thing that happened today is that there was a small fire at school.
I had to evacuate the class in the middle of a lesson!

First Day Back

This was my first day back at work.

It sucked of course but no worse than any other day.

I made $80 after work which is a good enough result, and even better I beat misdeal in the last
match, which always makes me happy.

Well tomorrow I start the last 11 weeks.. then it's paradise!

The thought of actually doing what I want instead of being a slave makes me want

Paying Off

Well the "Happy and Patient" approach is paying off.

I haven't been on tilt in the last 3 days despite a number of bad beats, and each day I've
made a profit. I'll be keeping this one up.. it's a winner!!

Hammered!

They are building a church across the road and for hours they've been driving poles into the ground by repeatedly smacking them with a large machine. It makes an incredible racket... fuck me.

For a while it was REALLY getting to me, but I put it behind me along with the bad beats and held tough to be up $54 so far.

150 blinds I got my KJ 4 flushed by 96 all in.. nice way to lose.

Qx against pokerkegend05 who has been killing me lately. He puts me in with flush draw, no pair no overcards against my top pair and of course hits... NICE.

But as I say I've been hanging tough! Stayed calm and patient!!!

Fighting

Had an argument with Iin which resulted in her not coming to the science centre.

Luckily I met AP and Ambar at the MRT and they suggested we go to the botanical gardens.

The boys had a great time. We were there about 5 hours! It pissed down with torrential rain, but they had a change of clothes so that was no bother.

Made $73.. wasn't too lucky, my KK all in vs AK getting cracked again. That's about the 4th time they've been cracked by Ax.. and had JJ squashed by A3

Played again.... lost to a cow when my AJ lost to her Q9 all in pre and my A5 lost to her Kj all in pre.. blinds were 150.. but I didn't get angry, just stayed focused and came back to win the next 3.

Ended the day on a pleasing $127... pleasing because I played with patience and good humor... didn't allow the beats to get to me... yay me!

Tank Got

Well yesterday was a horror day, from +120 to -$300. I was on tilt and playing angrily most of the day and of course I had horrid, horrid, horrid luck.

I spent some time thinking about my game and realized that I needed an attitude adjustment. Now I choose to play in a happy, patient frame of mind or not at all. 

Today bore the fruits of that effort, along with some good luck ( I sucked out with AQ all in vs QQ).

I went up $247 winning every game I played.

I also played some HU limit $1-$2 on Full Tilt. My roll there had been decimated, from $590 down to $190... that was another tilt filled day. I did well playing limit HU and rocked the roll up to $290 including $20 bonus cleared. I'll continue playing limit there for fun, and if I kill my roll thats the end of that.

If I can spin it up to $1k then I'll make a large withdrawal and continue the process. I get a lot of shortstacks which is just suicidal, so I like my odds.

really tilt is a luxury, a choice. I simply need to try harder. That was weak.

If I'm going to make a living at this then I simply can't afford tilt. From now on I choose not to tilt. I'll remain calm  and laugh at bad beats.

My favourite was KK vs A3 2nd hand.. all in pre flop. I was actually expecting to lose at that stage after the reaming I'd taken.

If that shit happens again I'll stick with UB and say FUCK YOU Full Tilt.

Went and played UB. MORE BAD BEATS.. couldn't win a fucking coin toss to save my life today. Lost about 14.

Ended up $146 on UB, but fuck me the bad beats sucked.

Horton

Went to see Horton, the Dr. Zeuss movie with Iin and the kids. It was going fine until the FUCKWIT next to me started belching. Every 3-4 minutes the smell of second hand popcorn and coke assaulted me. Boy was I pissed off.

I walked out half way with Ziggy. Much better than assaulting some random stranger in a movie theatre :)

Played well in the morning and survived a mini tilt session on FT. +$170 and +$90.

I'm pissed off I can't order the big stuff from the FT store.. they don't ship down my way. So that's one reason not to move to FT, despite the fact the structure is good and the HU lobby is flat out.

Pizza

I finally got back to BJJ today after almost 6 weeks off. The sciatica isn't much better.. but on the other hand it doesn't seem much worse.

I have a week of holidays which is nice. I have a little work to do, but most important is to earn money. My head isn't really in the right space for poker.. plus I haven't been running that great lately, but it'll all come back online soon enough.

Ziggy fell off a rock yesterday in the park and messed up his face. Poor bugger, luckily he's tough and it isn't bothering him.

I made $12 today, plus another $30 at Full Tilt. Full Tilt has a lot more people playing there.. I might have to think about a move. UB is really really quiet these days. The structure at FT is fine.. it's just the way they bring the tables to the front all the time that pisses me off.
