Getting There

My back feels a whole lot better. Just a day or two ago I would have taken surgery in a heartbeat, now I think I'll make it to the finish line just through toughing it out... and LOT of drugs.
Poker went well today. I'm up 280 and seem to be hitting flushes and so on all day long.
Played another session at about 12:30 am. Won an extra $123
$403 for the day and the first month I've cracked 5k in poker earnings!!

Improvement?

Feeling just a little better this morning..the back not quite so bad. I guess those Mckenzie exercises are doing it. Thanks Eric!!
Won 3 straight to win $142 in session one. Don't feel much like playing, so we'll see what happens later.
Played 3 more games but lost one.. up $185 for the day and feeling lazy.
Played 2 more and won them both.. two easy games as I hit everything.

Javenese Medicine

Had the boys from Java come to "fix" my back. Needless to say this didn't quite work out too well.

Their first technique was a short prayer session..inducing Allah's good graces.

Next a massage to discover where the injury was. Of course after having lived with the injury for 2 weeks I could have just told them, but proper form must be followed.

This was followed by hot oil and hot cloth in combination with massage.. so far so good.

Then we had a very painful massage of my right foot with a stick. The guy really dug the stick into the sole of the foot.. yum!

After this the famous suction cups were bought out.. leaving me with purple bruise all over my back and legs.

To top this off they bled the injury. Fuck me, bleeding injuries hasn't been a part of western medicine for hundreds of years.

It all ended up doing no good of course..but hey..noyhing like a good beating and bloodletting to fix a slipped disc!

Ended up $227 at the tables.

Emotional vs Physical

Well now I've had more than a week of physical pain and the prospect of more to come as I finally start to repair my back. I'm starting to compare this with the mental anguish of teaching for 10 years. Teaching, of course, isn't a bad job, but when you've had enough and are forced to continue in a profession you've grown to hate, it becomes hell. Personally I'd take a week of teaching over a week of back pain, but 3 months of teaching vs a week of back pain and I'll take the physical pain. Teaching FTL!

Today I ran decent, despite getting a guy all in 4 times and losing all 4 (I won the fifth) and made $285.

Righmt now I'm watching Donnie Darko again.. such a classic movie.

Stuck

Still stuck in fucking bed. THIS SUX. What I'd give to be healthy.

Lazy

Made $327 today.. whoohoo.. plus some progress with the back :) Starting to feel a little better.

Good Results

Had some tough games but managed to end the day +$355, which is pretty cool. I think the back may be getting better, or perhaps it's just the Ibuprofen.
Quico came round and braved the stink. He also had a good day.. winning about 4 games. This is the first month he received rakeback, which is nifty.. every dollar counts!

Time = Money

Well I'm having a pretty decent month poker-wise. Obviously the back pain is fucking killng me.. I nearly fainted on the way to the toilet. but being stuck in bed means I've played more and therefore earned more. If only I could use the money to buy a new back.

Pain!!

My back is in a LOT of pain.. well I guess the pain actually shows up in the leg. At the moment I can't move much.
Poker is going well. Made $223 today. I'm disappointed I wont make my blue belt exam, but I should feel much better after a couple of days rest.

Ate at the German Warung and of course it was good again! Went with the jits boys, so a good time was had. Made $135.. played a LOT of games..more than 20 anyway. It's good to keep the money rolling in.

Again.. managed to go 1-1 with a lot of timeouts, so I gotta wait till the net picks up.. again. Telkom is still the most stable connection, but really I'd love something better :(
