What a Tool!

Man I came home and played like a complete fucking tool. Honestly what a moron.
Luckily I made a profit and ended up $27.. it could have been SO ugly.

Played again and finished the day +$56. Rather lucky really.

Fun

I actually enjoyed playing today.

Ended up +$84 after the first session.. I had an equal share of good and bad luck which feels nice for once!

Today is Sunday which means work tomorrow... Oh how I hate the prospect of that!!!

Did well in the next two sessions, ending up +$215 :)

Naive

Silly of me to think my luck would change. Lost 2 in a row against a moron when we went all in with AK vs AT flop KJ9 turn the Q of course. All in after a 9xx flop.. I have AA he has T9.. river 9.

Ended up +$98 after the second session where I actually had some luck!!! 88 vs JJ and I rivered an 8... amazing!!!!

Third session I finised up +$206.. :)

Came back for the second session and won 2 straight. TT vs KT.. flop KJT all the money in and I hold up. Second guy I ground out till he was low and then we pushed with 55 vs AT.. he caught tens and I caught a 5... so I actually won a coinflip.. ye gods. Has my luck changed?

First Day Back

This was my first day back at work.

It sucked of course but no worse than any other day.

I made $80 after work which is a good enough result, and even better I beat misdeal in the last
match, which always makes me happy.

10 weeks 4 days of work to go!!

Lost 2 coinflips in a row when blinds were reasonably high.. AK vs 22.. catch an ace
on the flop and he gets runner runner straight, followed by A3 vs QJ.. he flops a J..nice

Weetbix

Had Weetbix for the first time since childhood.

They are goot!

I ate 4 in two sittings with a heap of soymilk. Yum yum yum.

Ended up making $98 which was fine.

Also spent about 3 hours at a playground with Slam while he played with Brayen and 
I chatted with AP

Well tomorrow I start the last 11 weeks.. then it's paradise!

The thought of actually doing what I want instead of being a slave makes me want
to cry. It's such a beautiful idea.

Paying Off

Well the "Happy and Patient" approach is paying off.

I haven't been on tilt in the last 3 days despite a number of bad beats, and each day I've
made a profit. I'll be keeping this one up.. it's a winner!!

Hammered!

They are building a church across the road and for hours they've been driving poles into the ground by repeatedly smacking them with a large machine. It makes an incredible racket... fuck me.

For a while it was REALLY getting to me, but I put it behind me along with the bad beats and held tough to be up $54 so far.

150 blinds I got my KJ 4 flushed by 96 all in.. nice way to lose.

Qx against pokerkegend05 who has been killing me lately. He puts me in with flush draw, no pair no overcards against my top pair and of course hits... NICE.

But as I say I've been hanging tough! Stayed calm and patient!!!

Fighting

Had an argument with Iin which resulted in her not coming to the science centre.

Luckily I met AP and Ambar at the MRT and they suggested we go to the botanical gardens.

The boys had a great time. We were there about 5 hours! It pissed down with torrential rain, but they had a change of clothes so that was no bother.

Made $73.. wasn't too lucky, my KK all in vs AK getting cracked again. That's about the 4th time they've been cracked by Ax.. and had JJ squashed by A3

Played again.... lost to a cow when my AJ lost to her Q9 all in pre and my A5 lost to her Kj all in pre.. blinds were 150.. but I didn't get angry, just stayed focused and came back to win the next 3.

Ended the day on a pleasing $127... pleasing because I played with patience and good humor... didn't allow the beats to get to me... yay me!

Tank Got

Well yesterday was a horror day, from +120 to -$300. I was on tilt and playing angrily most of the day and of course I had horrid, horrid, horrid luck.

I spent some time thinking about my game and realized that I needed an attitude adjustment. Now I choose to play in a happy, patient frame of mind or not at all. 

Today bore the fruits of that effort, along with some good luck ( I sucked out with AQ all in vs QQ).

I went up $247 winning every game I played.

I also played some HU limit $1-$2 on Full Tilt. My roll there had been decimated, from $590 down to $190... that was another tilt filled day. I did well playing limit HU and rocked the roll up to $290 including $20 bonus cleared. I'll continue playing limit there for fun, and if I kill my roll thats the end of that.

If I can spin it up to $1k then I'll make a large withdrawal and continue the process. I get a lot of shortstacks which is just suicidal, so I like my odds.

TILT

So instead of being up $120 I take a series of bad beats and go on FULL monkey tilt. Minus $240 later its all over :((

really tilt is a luxury, a choice. I simply need to try harder. That was weak.

If I'm going to make a living at this then I simply can't afford tilt. From now on I choose not to tilt. I'll remain calm  and laugh at bad beats.

I can do this, I simply need to choose to do it.

Went to the zoo and it pissed down. Eventually the rain stopped and the boys had a great time playing in the water section and the ball house.

Came home and won enough to end up $124

Minus $200

Went minus $300 on Full Tilt.. bead beat after bad beat. it was just filthy.
My favourite was KK vs A3 2nd hand.. all in pre flop. I was actually expecting to lose at that stage after the reaming I'd taken.

If that shit happens again I'll stick with UB and say FUCK YOU Full Tilt.

That site has one more chance.

Went and played UB. MORE BAD BEATS.. couldn't win a fucking coin toss to save my life today. Lost about 14.

Ended up $146 on UB, but fuck me the bad beats sucked.

Horton

Went to see Horton, the Dr. Zeuss movie with Iin and the kids. It was going fine until the FUCKWIT next to me started belching. Every 3-4 minutes the smell of second hand popcorn and coke assaulted me. Boy was I pissed off.

I walked out half way with Ziggy. Much better than assaulting some random stranger in a movie theatre :)

Played well in the morning and survived a mini tilt session on FT. +$170 and +$90.

I'm pissed off I can't order the big stuff from the FT store.. they don't ship down my way. So that's one reason not to move to FT, despite the fact the structure is good and the HU lobby is flat out.

Pizza

I finally got back to BJJ today after almost 6 weeks off. The sciatica isn't much better.. but on the other hand it doesn't seem much worse.

I have a week of holidays which is nice. I have a little work to do, but most important is to earn money. My head isn't really in the right space for poker.. plus I haven't been running that great lately, but it'll all come back online soon enough.

Ziggy fell off a rock yesterday in the park and messed up his face. Poor bugger, luckily he's tough and it isn't bothering him.

I made $12 today, plus another $30 at Full Tilt. Full Tilt has a lot more people playing there.. I might have to think about a move. UB is really really quiet these days. The structure at FT is fine.. it's just the way they bring the tables to the front all the time that pisses me off.

Too Long

Got up $30 playing after school. Was tired and not too patient. Played too long and ended up doing crap

I guess I'll have to master that old "Don't play too much in one session" trick.

Sucky few days

My laptop died on its arse. It needed a complete motherboard, power adaptor and dvd drive replacement!

Luckily it was under warranty so it didn't cost me anything.

Unluckily I was stuck on the big computer in the heat and noise. Funnily I managed to go on tilt and lose $300 in one day. It was true crap. so in the 5 days my laptop was out I managed to lose money :(

There might be a lesson there.. a 2nd laptop perhaps. I'll keep it in mind!

A Real Grind

I started off well today (Saturday) by winning 3 straight. I took a break and when I came back got hit by bad beats and tough opps. went down about $120 or so.. and ground it back out to end up whee I started, +94.

I'll put in another session or two later, after I've done some marking.

I chatted to Pak Bodhi last night and found out about the trike deal. The upshot is that I'll head to Bali and if everything goes well I'll pay 20 jt to get my trike license. However that depends on everything going smoothly. I wont risk going back to work.

The prime directive is: NEVER PUT MYSELF IN A POSITION WHERE I HAVE TO WORK AGAIN!!

On a side note my laptop is a bit dodgy, I've had to tape up the power supply on a weird angle or it wont charge. I'm pissed about having to take it in as that means a couple of weeks without the laptop (most likely).

Tough opps

Had a couple of tough opps, but managed to hold my own.

Ended up $102, which is fine for a Friday afternoon.

I explained the multi-table, short session system to Cyrus and he seems to
really like it. He went up $35 which is great at the $5 level.

I went swimming with the boys and they had a great time. I was trying to rehab my back, but it doesn't seem to have helped much. Perhaps it's difficult to know.

The weekend is coming up at last. 12 more work weeks to go!

Time

Time seems to be moving so slowly. I've got 13 weeks to go....12 work weeks. I think about that every day, which pf course means the time moves even more slowly..

5 Straight

Came home from school and won 5 straight.

It's nice when everything goes as it should!

So that was +$148 for 45 mins work (cleared $5 deposit bonus). It's not often I can claim to actually like poker.

The weekend is still to come and I expect to make at least $300 for the two days combined. preferably $400.

Work was the usual. I have a heap of marking not yet done and reports due.. but hey.... I made $148!

Another day..

Another boring day at work. Every spare moment was spent counting the remaining weeks in my head (12 work weeks). Not that I had much spare time. We had the grade 6 Wordplay rehearsals. Most of it was dross. Graade 7 will certainly be better!

Made $102 at poker which is good for a Wednesday. Bought a Subway. My leg still hurts from Sciatica, but it is a fraction better than the preceeding 4 weeks. Ye gods, 4 weeks of pain!

Iin wasn't feeling well this morning. I'm not sure what that was about.

Easy day

Yesterday was a tough cow.. with beats coming out of the ether, while today was easy street. Up $85 in 35 mins and "That'll do pig!".

If I wasn't so fatigued I'd kick on.. but considering it's Tuesday and sleep is a vague memory I'll take the money and run.

Tough afternoon

Had 5 horrible river beats in a row.. just tough, tough beats.

Was down a little more than $200 at one stage.

Took a break and when I came back the beats kept coming!!!!

Eventually I toughed it out to book a small profit of $28... Feels good to fight it out, but surely I wont have these tough sessions forever.

Apart from yesterday it feels like most of the time I play I get reamed. Variance is a tough old bitch.

Weekend

Well yesterday I made $118 which was disappointing. I had quite a few bad beats and tough opponents. It wasn't an easy day and at least I made a profit. 

Since moving to Singapore I've averaged 2k a month and had high months of 3k. Most of that I win on weekends, so I hope to make $200  a day on the weekends.

Today I'm up $168 so far. It's early afternoon so I'll play another session or two and hope to spin that up past $200.

The boys want to go to the zoo, but Iin isn't keen and it's pretty wet outside. I think I'll take them to the pool later on.

My back is finally showing signs of improvement. It's been close to 4 weeks I've suffered from sciatica! Chronic illness sucks!

So much to tell you

Well I haven't blogged for an awful long time, so this post should be a recap of the last 12 months.

1. I moved to Singapore and started as SAL for English at OFS (basically head of department). i signed a two year contract and the idea was to save money to buy a house. After 3 months I knew I didn't want to be SAL again next year. After 4 months I told my boss, Wayne that this would be my final year. He took it well. So now I have a little over 3 months till I'm free again and I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!
2. The two months before I left for Singapore I refined my UB HU play quite a bit, to the extent that I made 3k+ per month. If I'd have held on I'd have made it.. the return to work wasn't really necesarry. Anyway that doesn't matter as the year is more than half over and I've managed to save 100jt with hopes of that being 300jt by the time I walk out of here.
3. The boys were homeschooled, which was good for them. They learned much better behavior over here. They are pretty well behaved now.
4. Future plans. I'm off to Jakarta to learn how to fly trikes, unless there's no money in it in which case I'm off to Bali. Either way I'm happy.
