MTF8 Part 2

Had a crap day where I busted out of 3 tourneys because the power died. Then when it came back on I entered a $20 hu. Half way through... dies again. Joy. The upside was that later that day I lost to Mtf8 in a $20. Then played him for A $100 and kicke his arse. Was on a total high for hours after that.

Tried to go paragliding but win was too strong. At the moment I'm looking to buy a dog for the boys. I'd like a golden retriever... but worried that the coat would be too hot and the dog too big. I guess I'll wait till I find out how much the owner wants.

Now it's cuddle time with the boys, before they go to sleep.

Bubble Boy

The $2 8:30 tourney. Pays 10 places as it always has a large field. 2 days ago I came 12th. Yesterday I bubbled. Today I bubbled. All in low stacked with JJ vs 96. Flop KJ8 Turn 7. River T. Fuck me, how bad am I running?

FUCK LIMIT

Lost about $600 playing limit. I just have to accept I can't play limit and I NEVER will be able to play limit. On my best day I SUCK at limit. I don't know why I can't play it.. I just can't. I can play tourneys and HU and that's it. This is officially the LAST time I EVER EVER play that STUPID FUCKING GAME. FUCK LEE JONES. FUCK LIMIT. FUCK THE 10 DAYS WORTH OF GRIND I JUST BLEW. FUCK FUCK FUCK. NEVER AGAIN.

Turn Left At The Fork In The Road

Well I've done a lot of thinking. At the moment I can survive on what I'm earning at the tables. I can scrape out a living, but there's probably not much upside. Furthermore I'm vulnerable. If Bugsys shuts down or I got banned or whatever, I have no way to make money. With that in mind I'm going to move into limit.

Limit is played in 1000's of sites all over the net. If I master limit it gives me the following. 1. felxibilty. I can play anywhere. 2. a chance to climb the limit ladder and make some decent cash. 3. A chance to multi table, something which isn't as easy playing hu. 4. Bugsys has a nice limit league which pays well if you play a LOT.

So I'm approaching it three ways.

1. Read. I'll read and reread and study "Winning Low Limit Holdem" by Lee Jones. That's my new bible. Then I'll move on to "Holdem For Advanced Players", THE classic text for higher limits.

2. I'll try and get hold of Turbo Holdem Poker. That sim should be useful.

3. Most important is turning myself into a winner via my thought processes. Every night my new mantra is. "I will improve my play and get rich playing poker." No doubt I need to refine that, but in time.

So there it is.. moving into limit, something I thought I'd never do due to it's frustrations and variance.

Dreamlands

Went surfing. Was very cool.

Played an incredible hu game vs KrookedKreek. The guy sucked out on me 5 times (yes 5) before I sucked out on him twice and won it. Blinds were 400-800 by the time I got him. A very tough game, I was happy to win it.

Looks like I'm stuck with Star Bali crapnet.. oh well.

Internet Con

My ISP is so shit it's driving me insane. Tmw I'm going to try and set up a new provider "Channel 11". I hope it's good or I'll be pissed.

Lost $50 at poker. $10 hu, $10 tourneys and $30 at limit. Not a big deal, what really pisses me is this damn net.

Luck Where Are You???

I know it's a poor excuse but lately my luck in tourneys hasn't been great. For example a raise to steal the blinds by rho. I have Td9d. He has 88. Flop Q9x. he bets 3k (about half the pot). I feel he's missed the flop or might potentially lay down TT JJ if I play this right. Turn is a blank. I fire all in. He calls. River.. a 2 outer 8.. IGHN. Honestly I haven't been unlucky in tourneys, but that was certailny indicitave of the luck I've had on crucial hands.

I'm continuing to make a profit in $2-$4 limit with max 6 players. I prefer two or three opps. Made $79 there, plus $19 from a hu. Lost a $2 tourney (above) so a total profit of $96 (minus 6 more I'll no doubt lose in the $2 rebuy). So a profit of $93.

MTF8

My terrible tourney run continues. Not bad luck, perhaps just bad play. I called a smallish stack on AK suited. lost a race. That pretty much crippled me. I've dropped way down the 10k skill rankings, which sucks.

HU I won 3 and lost 1. Really stupid stupid loss... called a maniac when he had to go soon and I could have waited him out. What a TOOL I was. I was SERIOUSLY pissed about that.

Another bad beat.. last night the comp died when I was signed up in a $20.. Lost that money :-(

Been playing $2-$4 limit. Have made a little money at that which is nice. The best bit is I go to play against MTF8 my old hu enemy, and take $33 off him. A very sweet $33 indeed!!!!

Current roll $4921 (sent $50 to Geoff who was felted). So up $80, considering I lost $20 extra plus a couple of $2 rebuys yesterday.

Gunung Payung

At last I was allowed to go Paragliding. Bima had never seen me fly before and was protecting me from the "strong winds". Now I've proven myself competent I should get a LOT more flying action. Today if the winds are ok then I 'll get to fly my new Zulu glider. I can't wait.

Went out to a shocking beat in the $15. I steal on K8. Flop comesdown Kxx. I bet 1/3 of pot. An all in bluif by Russianiceman (fucker) on AJ. I call instantly and instead of me havinga very nice stack he hits a 3 outer Ace on the river. The luckbox. I then tilted my remaing chips off all in on A8. 8k with 2k blinds it was't a terrible play, but that was that.

Played $2-$4 shorthanded. Hit some nice hands and made a profit.

Current roll $4,912... up $58, but still only 11am

Why Bother

Lost all my tourneys and 3 hu matches in a row. @ of them tough, one of them I made an error which was understandable, but stupid.

My mind is swimming with fatigue. I'll stop playing for the day. It's amazing how I seem to play poorly when I get too much sleep. Last night I slept about 9 hours. Then proceeded to play shit poker.

Current roll $4717 ($4767 with the $50 I sent Geoff). Down $62.

Later that day.. played limit $2-$4 and won $16 plus played a hu.. so recovered to be only down $25 roll now $4854 (Geoff sent me $100)

Belligerent

Played well in all tourneys today. Very few errors. I'm happy with my game. Didn't make much cash, but it feels great to play well. Cashed in one tourney and came close in the others. Up to 11th in the 10k league.. HU I won quite a bit, about $100 I think, which makes it a pleasing day.

I did however pick a fight with a moron who called my raise (AQ) on Q2 and doubled me up when the board came QT8Q.. moron. I guess I should say nothing, but what a tool.

Current roll $4783.. I sent $50 to Geoff, so that should really be $4833 which would be up $100 on yesterday.

Fishooks

Played all day. Played very well with the exception of overplaying JJ. (some moron with a large stack put me in with AQ.. IGHN) Hence I've decided to take the Allen Cunningham approach and avoid confrontations with mediocre hands unless I've got AA KK or maybe AK (as so many people will push with AQ AJ AT).

JJ did me again in the $15 tourney. I bubbled instead of a certain cash. Blinds were high relative to stack size when the shortstack went in with 55 vs my JJ. She hit, I missed and never managed to recover.

But the bottom line is avoid coinflips unless a huge stack or no choice. I played with a lot of patience and very well, just one small error.

Stack was about $4730.. down roughly $30, but that didn't worry me as I played quite well.

Sacred Monkey Forrest

Went to the sacred monkey forrest. Glad I missed the secular monkey forrest.. wouldnt want to see that.

Kids enjoyed it. Slam was scared of the monkeys. Drive wasnt too bad. Saw some large koi which were oool. A LOT of tourists there.

The Phantom Guruh

Thought I was going paragliding and rushed up to Timbis. Guruh, who had sms'd me, was nowhere to be seen.

I tried ground handling. I figured it wasn't blowing too hard. WRONG!! First attempt left my wing in a tree. No damage thank goodness (except to the tree, which is missing a few limbs). Second attempt I was lifted off the ground and flung about 9 feet. I tried one more time, got dumped hard when I wasn;t even intending to leave the ground and slunk away like an embarrassed fool, much to the amusement of the guys who rescued me from the tree and then watched my antics.

The other weird thing is that due to the public holiday I've been getting super fast net.. 65kbs.. WOW. I guess it'll end tmw, but I enjoyed it while I could.

Came 3rd in the $2 rebuy, field of 36, paying 5. Went out on TT vs AJ :-(

Bad Day At Black Rock

lost all my tournies after getting crap cards and playing dumb after losing with QQ twice.

Lost a $20 hu when my conn died. Super frustrating.

Dropped a lot of places in the $10K league.

I take two bad beats then tilt my chips away AGAIN!!!!. The very hand after I tilt my chips down to 400 I get AA. I mean fuck me am I STUPID???

If I fold like I know I MUST then I get to double up the very next hand (triple up perhaps, it was an action hand) HEESUS!!!

If I can't control my propensity to tilt after taking bad beats I'll have to get a day job..

QQ vs Q5 all in pre flop. board drops 5-5...

QQ vs T7. I make a huge raise preflop. Moron calls on T7 suited. catches 2 of his suit.. pushes in and doubles up.

So now I'm on tilt..

I catch TT.. board is 984. multiple callers. I bet pot. 1 caller. turn is 4. He pushes in. I KNOW I MUST FOLD!!. But call due to ubertilt.. IGHN and KICK MYSELF!!!

TILT

I've discovered that I tilt even when I think I don't. After I take a horrible beat (this time it was trapping an aggressive shortstack. I limped on KK, he pushed in on A5. I call and he doubles up when an ace hits. Before that it was a low board against a raiser. I push in on my pocket pair after reading weakness and he calls and catches a K on the river.. he had AK). I then make an awful decision (normally calling when I am clearly beat).

Basically the bad beat puts me on tilt even though I dont feel angry. I then make a stupid play. Emotionally I feel fine, but my judgement has been affected by the beat.

I guess I have to be EXTRA careful not to tilt after a bad beat. I'll see if I can master this hole in my game.

Woke Up at 3 am

Had to decide whether to go to sleep in the arvo or work. I chose to work and surprisingly didnt play too well. I managed to be patient right up to the crucial moment, where after 3 hours of hard work I'd then make a monumental error. I bubbled once, second bubbled once and came 3rd out of 33 when I had a real shot at first. The hand that did me in

Still I made a little money today. God knows how..

Current Stack 4,695. so up $38. More importantly I finished just high enough to get a few points in the 10K skill league.

Now I'm off to relax, go to the beach, jog, and SLEEP!!

Addendum

Played like a tool tossing away my stack in the $2 rebuy.. but made up for it by winning the $10 tourney. Played well and with patience! Even though my comp froze after the antivirus fired up.. That was HU and I lost half my stack :-( Then had to suffer runner runner A6 vs 45 all in. Flop Aq6 turn 7 river 3... But came back to win it :-)

Current stack $4657. So up about $320 on yesterdays disaster day.

A bonus is that I've moved up the ranks in the Bugsys 10K skill league. If I play well I should cash for some decent money ($100 or so).

The Beats

They just keep coming. I cashed twice today but should have had SO much more. The hand the took me out 5th (paying 5). 3 players limp. Blinds are high. Flop JJ9. I have KJ. Bet pot by moron to my left (KK). I reraise. Calls. All in on the turn. He 4 flushes me. If that holds up I'm looking good for $200 instead of $40 and a lock for $60. The beats can be sick sometimes.. so sick. I feel crap about it. At least I played well today.

Current roll $4545. Up $210 on yesteray plus I have a big stack in the $2 rebuy. With some luck I might cash 3/3 for the day. That would give me a shot at the 10k league.

Weird Dream

It's not often I remember my dreams, but last night I slept about 10 hours and had a VERY vivid dream. I dreamed I was in a small house in front of a large mountain. The snow on the mountain came roaring towards the house in an avalanche, but this wasn't at all threatening, just interseting. After a few waves of snow the weather changed to a large myst. This myst was the voice of god. If the myst cleared in response to my question then the answer was yes, and if it stayed then the answer was no. Very weird. After the dream finished I had a very strong message. God is real... Love is the answer.. Very weird. Luckily I've come to my senses and remain an avowed atheist.. but it was a very disturbing dream due to it's vividness.. Guess I better lay off the cheesebread...

CRAP DAY

Lost about $150 hu and in tourneys. Played like a tool. Sleep patterns are the problem perhaps. Just not thinking great as far poker is converned. The smart thing would be to stop playing and go work on my groundhandling (paragliding).

I have to get it together if I'm going to make a living at this.

The kids are screaming, I'm crapped off because I'm $100 in the hole.. bad day at black rock.
